"Got your bags?" I asked Holly and Tony. They both nodded. "Are your lunches in there? And do you have your medicine, Holly?""Yes, mama." Holly said with a deep sigh while rolling her eyes.
"Hey don't sass me, missy, I'm just checking." I told her with a chuckle, before heading with them to the front door. Oliver honked the horn of his car impatiently. "Yeah, yeah, we're coming, don't get your panties in a twist."
We walked out to the car. . . well, more like they ran and I walked, actually. Holly managed to open the backseat door and hopped on in beside Kevin. Tony quickly followed suit and they both put on their seatbelts. It had become a bit of a daily routine for Oliver to drop the kids off at school. And sometimes we'd switch and I'd do it.
It was a new thing since Vic and Kellin were actually off on tour with their bands together. It was one of their biggest tours yet. Kellin's band had managed to get ahead of Vic's and release more albums than they did. But that was only because Kellin literally didn't do anything other than write music while Vic didn't do anything other than aiming for perfection and not being satisfied with anything really. Vic and Kellin both said that their next albums would be out next year, but while Kellin's was practically done, Vic was filling the paper bin with lyrics and tabs, which simply were 'not good enough'.
But right now all of that didn't matter. Right now they were doing a world tour together. Which was pretty cool since they had decided to write a song together too. Or at least, Vic's band did with just Kellin. It was released on their third album and the fans were absolutely ecstatic about it.
"Alright, be good to your teacher!" I called out after Holly and Tony as they ran off with their classmates.
"We always are!" They shot back. I smiled at them and shook my head. They so weren't and I knew it. But it was okay. Their trouble-making was quite innocent.
"Hey there, Sykes!" Jenna called out, obviously just dropping off her daughter too. "Is it. . . still Sykes?" She then asked, furrowing her brows.
I laughed and nodded. "Still Sykes." I confirmed.
"Ouch."
"It's no big deal." I simply shrugged. It was then that I noticed something weird about Jenna. Well, not anything weird. . . just different. She looked different.
"Different, huh?" She murmured, a little unimpressed.
"Did I say that out loud?" I chuckled awkwardly.
"Just go on an say it, I'm fat." Jenna then blurted out, dramatically waving her hands in the air. Oliver immediately began laughing at her.
"I-I wasn't going to say that. I just—"
"I'm kidding, Chel-bell! I'm pregnant. . . again. Four months."
"I'm so happy for you!" I told her in all honesty, and pulled her into a hug. "So where is Austin? Haven't seen him in a while." I then asked.
"On tour." Well that sounded familiar. "Well anyways, I better be heading off. Got an ultrasound appointment. I promised Austin I'd call him and show him. The whole band wants to see what is inside me, apparently." We both chuckled a little.
After saying our goodbyes, we all left. I was happy to see that her and Austin were doing so great together. They'd been together longer than Vic and me now. Just over half a year though. Back in the car, I noticed my phone blowing up with instagram and twitter notifications as Oliver drove off.
I frowned curiously as I picked up my phone and unlocked it, to find that Vic had posted our graduation dance photo and added the caption 'Missing this hot tamale. Bummed I'm not home to celebrate our anniversary. 9 years strong.'
