Lucky Number 7

She giggled and wrapped herself around me. I hate that nightie...I can't feel her skin on mine. Her neck is still exposed, but I don't want to rush her into sex yet. She was sexually assaulted and to do it may cause problems between us. "How are you feeling babe?" I asked her.

She looked at me and shrugged. "I have some flashbacks and some nightmares but...aside from that...I think I'm alright."

I pulled her towards me. "We're going to make it. I promise. Which reminds me...the social worker is going to come over for her last evaluation before she decides to let him stay with us or if he is going to foster care."

Giselle frowned at me. "I thought he was ours to keep. Esther put it in her will for us to raise him and he's in our custody til he turns 18."

I shook my head. "He is but the government needs to sign off on it. "

She let out a sigh. "If we lose him...I don't know what I'll do. "

I cut her off. "WE. WON'T. LOSE. HIM. Understand? I'm not letting either of you go. If we lose him, I'll fight for him in court. But he's staying her. Just like you."

She looked at me before nodding and kissing me on the lips. "I wondered where that handsome but possessive beast of mine ran off too."

I couldn't help myself. "He's here now. Ready to reclaim his woman."

She looked slightly scared. But she looked at me and said."Then come and get her."

With that I slid her nightie off. I looked at all the soft curves, perfect skin, and flawless figure beneath me. She looked terrified...probably remembering Ryan and what he did to her. I need to fix it. Now.

I began kissing her body softly and slowly. I was going to heal her. I'm going to erase whatever that prick did to her. She moaned softly wrapping her arms around my neck in a tight embrace. I ran my lips all over her soft skin.

When I finished kissing every inch of her, I reached over and gave her nightie back.

She looked at me surprised." You don't want sex with me?" she whispered.

"I do. More than anything. But now isn't the right time. I know that you aren't ready for it yet. Not right now. I'll get you there. But first, I need to get that bastard out of your nightmares. "

She looked at me with tears pouring down her eyes. "You...Your going to wait for me to feel better?"

I nodded. "What happened to you was terrible. I don't want you to ever feel that ever again. I can't change the past, but I can change the future. Our future." My fingers found hers, and I was relieved when she wrapped them around mine.Suddenly she burst out crying.

"Ellie, babe, what's the matter?" I asked her.

"It just hit me!" she sobbed.

"What? What's wrong?" I was freaking out.

"You truly love me! Your the one who was meant for me! I thought you didn't want me, but you do! I'm so happy. " She choked out.

We laughed together in bed. I pulled her into my chest and put my head on hers.

Within minutes we fell asleep in each others arms where we belonged(A/N:YECH!)

The social worker Mrs. Eliza Pfender stood in my door way two days later. She scared the hell out of me but today she was smiling.

"May I please come in? I promise this visit will be worth it for you both."

I smiled nervously at her and allowed her in. "Are your injuries healed up properly?" she asked me.

I nodded my head, not trusting my voice. "Drink?" I was able to force out.

She smiled at me. "Water please."

I got her a glass when we heard a shrill scream from upstairs.

Mrs. Pfender and I ran upstairs in alarm. What I saw...made me die laughing.

Benny was running away from Giselle who was trying to get him cleaned up but he jumped out and ran away from her with his little naked body covered in soap suds. She must have been giving him a bath. He rushed past us and ran to his room and closed the door.

I followed him, still laughing while Mrs. Pfender was looking at us amused and Giselle was glaring at me. I opened the door and saw Benny struggling to put on his clothes. He looked at me and pouted. "I not a baby! I Big boy!" he shouted. I laughed at him.

"You are always going to be our baby. Just like I am Nanna Cassie's baby, even though I'm a big boy. Now go say sorry to mommy and let her finish your bath." He nodded his head and walked back to the bathroom where Giselle was waiting for him. "I sorry I bad boy mommy. " he mumbled. Giselle scooped him up and kissed his head. "It's alright sweetie. Come on, let's finish bath time."

I led Mrs. Pfander downstairs. "Sorry about that."

She smiled at me. "It's alright. Now, the court has approved your adoption of Benjamin Sorren. You and Ms. Williams are now legally his parents."

I felt the air rush out of my lungs. We did it. We get to keep Benny! He was ours to keep and protect and love.

She smiled at the relief on my face. "Congratulations." She held out her hand for me to shake it.

I crushed her in a tight hug. "THANK YOU! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!" I cried in her arms.

"What's going on?" I turned to see Giselle and Benny standing there looking at us.

I rushed over to them and kissed Benny all over his face, loving his happy giggles. "He's ours! We get to keep him!"I told her while tears of joy rolled down my eyes.

She laughed and we all embraced each other while Mrs. Pfander watched happily.

The number 7 is a lucky one. This is a lucky month for us. My family is locked in. My wife is recovering from her terrible ordeal. My son is officially my son. But finally...my house is now a home.

There is one sad fact. Even though things are going right...there's one final obstacle that has to be dealt with.
