Married...Properly this time

I took Giselle's hand and we faced the judge who began that whole boring spiel that they usually do for weddings. I tuned her out and imagined the future we were going to have together.  Benny being the best big brother in the world to the new baby. Several other kids in the house running wild while Giselle and I try to get them under control. Benny leaving  for college while Giselle and I cry about it and say we're not read---"Riley!"

I snapped out of it and realized that the judge was talking to me. "Your wife wants to read her vows to you."

I looked at Giselle and who simply giggled at my daydreams...almost like she knew what I was thinking.

"I never thought I'd find my soulmate the way I found you. I expected something calm and quiet to come my way. Instead, you came into my life like a hurricane and turned my whole life Topsy-turvy. When I saw you...I knew that you were going to knock my ordered world off it's axis...What I never expected was that by knocking it of it's axis, you became my world. While our meeting each other wasn't perfect...I can't imagine any other way to have done it. "

She stopped to wipe her tears.

"I thought you could do better, that starting a life with you was going to be nothing but pain. I couldn't have been more wrong about any of it. There have been sad and painful moments...but the joy I feel whenever I see you...tells me that you're worth it. That no matter how hard things get, if your standing beside me, we'll make it. "

She took another breath and smiled.

"We fell in love unusually fast. At first I thought it was just lust and loneliness that kept me around. But I now know the reason we fell in love so fast was because I was meant to be yours. Just like you were meant to be mine. Now and forever."

I looked at her, my heart swelling with joy at her beautiful words. I actually felt my body shake with happiness as she slid my ring onto my hand.

"Do you want to say yours?" the judge asked me.

I nodded and took a breath.

"The second I saw you...I couldn't help myself. It was like an instinct that drew me to you and kept me with you. When you turned me down the first time...if it was anyone else I would have moved on. But you...you I couldn't get away from. For so long...I just lived the bachelor life and thought I was happy. Then one day my heart woke up and started wanting you and for seven months...I was miserable since I had no idea where you were. Then I found you. All my misery evaporated when I saw you. That night...I had to have you. Not just for the night but for the rest of my life. I fell in love with you before I even met you, and as crazy as that sounds, it makes me so happy knowing that I found you and that you found me. "

I took another breath and went on.

"Today, in front of all our friends and family, I swear to be the best husband to you. I swear to be the best father to all of our kids. And I swear to make sure that you never have a boring day. Now and Forever"

She giggled through her tears.  The judge asked if anyone objected. At this I glared at the crowd, daring anyone to speak up. If they did...tough shit. We're already married but if the prick wants a fight...I'll be more than happy to oblige him.

"Well, by the authority vested in me by the state of California I know pronounce you spouses for life. You may now-"

I didn't wait for her to finish. I pulled Giselle towards me and smashed my lips onto hers.  With everyone cheering I broke the kiss and smiled at her as she blushed but grinned at me happily.

"You never cease to amaze me handsome." She said happily. I smiled and took her hand and we walked to the reception with our guests.

Wow.

Mom went all out with this Wedding party. The food, the music, there's even a vape bar.

Holy shit.

I spent the whole day dancing with people. From my mom and dad, to my band mates, then I had a cute little dance with Karen who stood on my shoes while I lumbered around making her giggle. Finally I got to dance with my wife. We sashayed around the floor while our guests all cheered and whistled at us.

"So Beast, should we share the added good news with our guests?"

I smiled. "Yes, we will. I hope you get used to pregnancy my sweet little thing." I leaned in closer and whispered. "Because the minute this one's out and about, I'm gonna fill you up with another one."

Giselle turned scarlet at this. She still can't handle it when I talk dirty to her. But she enjoys it and that's all that matters in the end.

I felt a tug on my trouser leg and saw Benny smiling up at me. "Daddy, Mama? Can I dance too?"

I laughed. Always down for a good time. "Sure small fry. Come here." I scooped him up and the three of us danced, laughed, and connected even more with each other.

This is it. This is the life I always wanted.

I have a great job.

Three of the best friends ever.

Two loving and supportive parents who may have messed up but want to make thing's right.

A great little boy.

Another amazing kid who's in the works.

And my wife. The best thing that could ever happen to me.

This is what I got for not giving up. For being too stubborn to admit defeat even when it would be better to do so. For being unwilling to compromise on my happiness and not wanting anyone but her. For being ADAMANT that this is how I will live out my life.

In happiness and in love with my family.

I want to thank everyone who read this book from the beginning to the end. This isn't the end for Riley, Giselle, and Benny. They will have roles in the other books as well. The next story was going to be about David but by popular request William is the next one to have his tale told. His story is about earning his love's forgiveness for something he did to her in High School.

Anyway...the Epilogue is next. It's Benny's perspective about the Thornton's family life.
