In Love With A Charmed One

Chapter 35- Part 1

"Hey Lila come on" Wyatt shouted and I saw him grinning. I rushed through the gate and stopped beside him. I smiled, knowing what he was thinking.

"So. Shall we race?" he asked and I snorted at him.

"What kind of question is that? Of course we should race" I replied and we both grinned at each other competitively. Wyatt and I were more competitive that what I was with Chris, so you can guess how competitive we were.

"Okay Wyatt, but don't bet anything. She robbed me of ten bucks yesterday in an ice-cream eating competition." Chris said and I stuck my tongue out at him, but felt butterflies in my stomach at the mention of yesterday.

"Chris what did you say that for, I was hoping he would bet me something cool and then I would watch him cry as I beat him" I whined and Chris rolled his eyes as Wyatt glared at me.

"Oh you think you can beat me do you Anderson?" he challenged me.

"Of course I can beat you Halliwell, you're so easy to beat" I replied and saw him decide.

"Okay fine. But I bet that you can't beat me" he said and I shook my head.

"What are you willing to bet?" I asked him.

"I will do your chores for a week if I lose. If you lose you have to do my chores" I frowned at him.

"You're on" I said and held my hand out for him to shake it. We shook hands on the deal before doing our normal handshake which consisted of a fist bump, grabbing thumbs and swapping hands until we held each others hand in a wresting stance before pulling away and high-fiving each other so hard that my hand usually tingled afterwards. I have no idea who invented it but we've had it that way since we were seven. Actually I think it was Wyatt's idea.

"Wyatt, why did you have to bet her for? You do realise she's gonna beat you" Melinda said and I turned around and smiled at her.

"Little sister have faith in your brother" was Wyatt's response.

"Mel are you gonna join in?" I asked her. She shook her head.

"Nope I'm going to watch and see who wins" she replied and I nodded thinking that it was a good idea.

Chris, Wyatt and I each took one set of the ropes as it was a pyramid shape, meaning we could have a side each.

"GO!" Melinda screamed and I grabbed hold of the rope nearest to me before using it to pull myself up. Once my legs were firmly on the rope I climbed higher, onto the next rope. That was slightly harder as it was a wider gap but I managed to do that. Looking across at the boys I saw they were making better progress than me.

"Oh crap" I muttered to myself, before deciding to take the inside. Using the ropes either side of me I lowered myself into the pyramid, towards the pole that ran up the middle. This was because I saw that the ropes got further and further away from each other on the outside. I was now crouched on a piece of rope, that had an opening above me.

I brought my hands up and into the hole before grabbing the ropes above me and hoisting myself through.

"Ouch" I cried as the rope scraped against my hip. It had been a long time since I last climbed something like this and I had filled out since then. I started to waver, thinking that this was a bad idea, especially seeing as how I was wearing a dress. Looking below, I saw there was no one below me and so no one could see my underwear, unless a breeze blew my dress up.

Loser!  Wyatt's voice shouted in my head. That fuelled me and I grabbed hold of the rope above me before pulling myself up. I saw that Wyatt was nearly halfway up. Chris was close behind him, and I was in last place.
