Sherlock tried to talk, but he was too much in pain to do so.
"I've tried to get rid of you so many times. But you were always a step ahead," Damien said.
"I truly believed I had got to you, two years ago, but then I found out you were still alive.""What?" you asked surprised.
"Have you figured it out, Mr Holmes?" Damien asked. "Surely, you must have had a suspicion.""Ah!" Sherlock groaned as the two men put hands on his shoulders. You hated to hear him in such pain.
"You see I thought our man would manage it. He was one of my best, until he ruined it all and shot himself," Damien told you.
Both you and Sherlock reacted to it. A man shot himself and Damien thought Sherlock died two years ago.
"Moriarty," you said. "He worked for you?"
"He did, but his name wasn't Moriarty. He told you his real name, but you thought he was only playing with you," he said to Sherlock."His real name? But, that would be... Richard Brook," you said.
"Correct," Damien said and smiled. "Your girlfriend seems to be quite smart, Mr Holmes," he said and chuckled."But who's Moriarty?" you asked confused.
"No, don't get me wrong, my dear. Richard was Moriarty, I'm Moriarty, we're all Moriarty," he said."I don't understand. Moriarty is not a person then?" you asked.
"No," Damien said shortly and rolled his finger in the air as a signal for you to keep going.
"It's an organization," you finished and Damien clapped his hands.
"Excellent, my dear!" he said and raised an eyebrow while looking at Sherlock."What do you say to that, Mr Holmes? She seems like a good match for you. I understand your attraction to her," Damien said.
"You want to kill me, get on with it then," Sherlock said, but paused between some of the words.
"Oh, not yet, no. I'm gonna have some fun with you first. You destroyed a huge part of my network during those two years. I'm only returning the favour by destroying the ones you care for," Damien said and Jake came out of the dark. You saw a scar from where you bit him in the ear. He came over to you and one of the men holding you, stretched out your arm. Jake took out a knife and placed the edge of it on your lower arm.
Sherlock made a move towards you, but the men behind him stopped him and he groaned in pain.
"This is for yesterday," Jake whispered in your ear and pressed the edge on your arm so you started to bleed. He then moved the knife further down to your wrist, leaving a long mark on your arm. You screamed out in pain, and Sherlock knitted his fists. The blood dripped from your arm and down to onto the floor. The pain shut through your body.
"Get away from her!" Sherlock barked and tried to get up on his feet but it was useless."I'm enjoying this," Jake told you. "Hey, Mr Holmes, watch this." He said and kissed you. You wriggled away and bit his lip so that he started to bleed.
"Ouch!" he yelled and slapped you in the face."Jake, that's enough!" Damien told him and Jake walked backwards. "I know you like to have fun, but we don't do that." He raised his eyebrows to the men holding Sherlock. The guy who punched him before, did it again, again and again.
Your feet failed to hold you up, and you collapsed. The men let go of your grip. You used your unharmed hand to try to stop the wound from bleeding.
"Please, don't" you begged them but they didn't listen. The man must have broken some of Sherlock's bones for sure. His open shirt revealed multiple wounds. The shirt wasn't longer white. It was red, dark red. You knew from that moment that you didn't want to see him in a red shirt as Mary suggested.
Jake went over to them.
"I'll show you pain," he said and cut Sherlock on the torso with the knife. Sherlock tried not to cry out in pain. You made a move and ran over to him.
"Sherlock..." you said and wanted to hold around him, but was afraid it would hurt him.Two men bowed down and dragged you away.
"No! No!" you screamed and resisted all you could. The man who had been punching Sherlock pulled out a gun, which made you find more strength than you thought you had. But it still wasn't enough to get free from the men's grip.
"Calm, my dear," Damien said and put his hand on your shoulder. "One day you'll thank me for making your life easier," he said. The man pointed the gun at Sherlock, waiting for a signal.
"I'm begging you," you tried, but Damien raised his hand and the man shot Sherlock in the leg making him shout out in pain. Blood started to float under his leg.
"Please! I'm begging you! Stop this," you tried again and cried.
"I'm sorry, but I can't do that. You should probably look away," he told you and you knew what it meant. The man pointed the gun at Sherlock again. You didn't know what more you could do to prevent them from killing him.
"Hold it right there!" a familiar voice called out from the dark. You all turned your heads to try to see the man.
Sherrinford stepped out in the light, pointing a gun at Damien."Well, well. Mr Sherrinford Holmes," Damien said with a teasing tone. "Nice to see you again."
"I wish I could say the same to you, Mr Darhk," Sherrinford said and took a few steps closer. He looked at you and your wounded arm and then on his brother who laid on the floor, unable to move. Sherlock groaned in pain every time he moved a muscle."Tell me, is Mycroft here too?" Damien asked. Sherrinford didn't answer him, just walked closer. Damien didn't seem to be scared of Sherrinford's gun. He stood still with his hands in his trouser pockets.
"Let them go, Damien," Sherrinford demanded and put his hand down in his pocket and took something out. "You forgot these," he said and threw the objects on the floor so they landed in front of Damien's feet. It was the white king and queen bricks from chess.
"Don't you remember that I defeated you once?" Damien asked.
"Shoot him!" you shouted to Sherrinford."Y/N and my brother need medical attention. I'll give you two options. You can either surrender or I can blow your brain out," he said.
The man with the gun didn't longer point it at Sherlock. He now pointed it at Sherrinford.
"Duck!" you shouted to him just as the man pulled the trigger. Luckily, Sherrinford acted fast enough and the man missed his target.Several men came out of the dark with guns and started to shoot and punch the other men. Sherrinford was on his way over to you, but Damien was faster and put you in front of him.
"You don't want to shoot, Mr Holmes!" Damien yelled to Sherrinford who still had his gun pointed at him and you. Some other men Sherrinford had brought with him carried Sherlock away.
"Do it," you told Sherrinford. "I trust you. Shoot!" Sherrinford hesitated, but did take a shot.Damien howled out in pain and let you go. You ran over to Sherrinford who told you to go the same way his men went with Sherlock.
You didn't hesitate by doing so, leaving Sherrinford and Damien who were the only ones alive in the room.
Sherrinford had hit Damien in the shoulder and he tried to stop the bleeding.Mycroft came up behind Damien. "Not so successful this time either, Mt Darhk," he said and we winked at two men who placed Damien's hands behind his back and put a pair of handcuffs on them which made Damien groan in pain.
Sherrinford walked over to him and whispered in his ear.
"Checkmate."
---------------------------------------------
You came out of the building just in time to see some ambulance men carry Sherlock on a stretcher into the ambulance. Mary came over to greet you.
"Y/N! Thank goodness you're alive!" she said and hugged you. She looked down your arm and saw the wound. Your arm was covered in blood.
You suddenly became dizzy and it was as if the ground under you started to float. You staggered back and forth before you collapsed and everything went dark.
