Chapter 24: You're My Highest Priority!

"Hmph,you thought that your magic can take me over and make me do what you want,hah,what an idiot you are!" (Y/N) let out a snort of laughter while glaring at the man,who now,had a terrified expression.

(Y/N) formed a red lightball in her hand and shot it in the air,it formed a huge,powerful dome around her,and as the dome's walls touched us,we were literally blown away,landing furder away on the ground.

"She needs to change back to normal right now or she will kill herself!" I heard Oshiro's voice.

I squeezed my teeth toghether.I needed to save her no matter what.

With these thoughts I got on my feet and started pressing through her 'protection field',I have to admit,it was quite strong.

"(Y/N)!" I called out her name.

"I suggest you to turn around and leave right now,otherwide you might get hurt foxy!" she yelled through chuckling,I could tell that it wasn't her from a mile off.Also with those words her power strongened and I slid a bit back,a strong wind started blowing now,making it harder to walk forward.

"(Y/N) listen to me!" I yelled,I had no idea how to turn her back to normal.

"How many times do I have to repeat myself?Leave ri-!" I cut her off.

"(Y/N)!Don't leave me!You're important to me!I...need you!" I yelled the words without thinking,clear despair was heard in my voice,looking her straight in the eyes which were now widening.

I felt her power weakening.

"Tomoe." she suddenly whispered and her eyes changed back to (E/C),the dome around her dissapeared and she lose concious.

Before she could fall I caught her and squatted down,(Y/N) in my arms safely.

It was alright now,she changed back.

I placed the strands of hair that laid in the middle of her face,behind her ear.I tenderly caressed her cheek and leaned forward,my eyes clouding at the sight of her features.

Just before I could place my lips on hers,something pushed me away.

"I see that she's alright!" a rather irritated voice said,I looked up,seeing Oshiro,(Y/N) in his arms bridal style,I growled angrily.

"I think we should head back to Mikage shrine,she needs to rest." he said and turned on his heels,leaving me behind.

I sighed and got up,following him.

(Y/N)'s POV

I squeezed my eyes tightly toghether,trying to ignore the light that was disturbing my sleep.I streched my limbs and pulled the duvet over my face.

My eyes suddenly snapped open and I tossed the duvet off of myself,I rushed to a winow and gazed outside,my eyes were filled with fright.

After I had confirmed the fact that I hadn't destroyed anything,I let out a sigh and pulled a cardigan over my shorts and the over-sized T-shirt I had slept in.I wanted to be alone and I knew exactly where I had to go,I will be quiqk,they won't even notice that I'm missing.

I carefully pushed the door of my room open and listened.I heard the voices of Tomoe and Oshiro,discussing something rather lively I should say.

I tip-toed past the living room,into the corridor.I threw my eyes on my boots for a moment,never mind,too much effort.With that I slipped out,without any footwear,I didn't even bother to put on shoes.

The air was crisp and I felt myself getting cold immidently.It doesn't matter,my shrine isn't far.I tried to ignore the fact that I was cold and basically ran towards my shrine.

-Small Timeskip-

Soon I was there,I quiqkly got a blanket from inside and walked into the garden,wrapping the blanket around myself.

I stopped under an oak tree and sat down,resting my back against the strain,closing my eyes and sighing.

I listened to the few sounds that were heard,it was quiet,even the birds didn't tweet.I took a deep breath,I was more than certain that it was Tomoe who had saved me again.I remembered how he had held me when I was sick,I miss his warmth.

I then heard footsteps,I opened one eye and peeked at the figure in front of me.

Speaking of the devil...

Tomoe stared at me with a rather strict look,then he closed his eyes and shook his head,sitting down next to me,resting his back against the strain,just like I had done.

I kept looking at him,now with both of my eyes.

His eyes snapped open,looking at me,I immidently turned my gaze from him and stared at my shrine,he continued looking at me,I tried to ignore him.

"How many times are you planning to dissapear out of my sight like that?" his cold voice suddenly cut through like a sharp knife,making me wince slightly.

"Hey!That's not my fault-!" As I started protesting,I turned my head,but as I saw his eyes,I fell silent.

He looked...concerned,desperate and even frightened.

I gazed into his violet orbs with surprise,even my mouth was partly open.

He suddenly took my hands in his and looked me deep in the eyes.

"(Y/N),if there's anything you want to talk about,I don't care when,you can always tell me about it." he said,his voice and expression softening.

"You're my highest priority,I can't lose you." he said,squeezing my hands slightly. "I will protect you no matter what,remember that." he then added,softly gazing into my eyes.

I was a bit shocked,no one had never said something like that to me,I didn't know how to react.

He suddenly pulled me into an embrace,wrapping one of his arms around my shoulders,tenderly stroking my head with the other one.

A blush crept on my face immidently,my eyes widened slightly as well.

He kept reassuringly playing with my hair and soon I melted into his grip.I missed this warmth,missed it so much.

I closed my eyes and just rested,I let out a sigh of bliss,I felt safe and calm,I didn't want this moment to end.

Tomoe's POV

I kept stroking her head gently.She was so fragile in my arms.

'I will never let you out of my sight again,I will never lose you...I just...wouldn't bear it.'

I placed a kiss on her head and tightened my grip around her,now wrapping my other arm around her shoulders as well.

I rested my head on hers and closed my eyes,breathing in quietly.

'You're mine...only mine...'
