Chapter Two: Saved By A Jerk

Start from the beginning

Patrick wasn't really your uncle. Not in blood, by the way. He was you father's best friend. They went to military together and was sent to war after a few years. Your Dad died saving him in a raid so you can't help but feel a little resentful against him.

"I bot fight because I want to forget. The money is a mere bonus." You pulled away from his hug. "I'm going for a walk. A long walk. Don't wait up for me."

The morning breeze greeted you lightly, flapping your hair behind. You kept your head down as you shoved your freezing hands into your pockets, avoiding pedestrians with every step and turn.

"Ow!" You exclaim when a stranger bumped into you, sending you rocking backwards and down to the ground. The man didn't bother looking behind to apologize for his rudeness or at least glance your way, instead, he continued striding away, as though nothing happened.

You childishly stuck your tongue out at the stranger, stretching your face in mockery as well. "Jerk," You uttered under your breathe and headed to the other side of the street with your head down, contemplating a bloody murder plan for the man.

A loud honking sounded to your right. You snapped back to reality and caught sight of a speeding cab and it made no sign of stopping. Time seem to slow down as you watched the cab inch closer and closer to your frame, almost like an action movie scene.

Is this the end? Okay. Good bye world. I will not miss you.

You closed your eyes and awaited for your fate, precisely the impact that will take away your life any second now. You made no attempt to move away, you knew that fear is currently in control of your whole body.

You waited.

And waited.

When nothing happened, you open your eyes. You found yourself screaming in bewilderment, astonishment, and utter and pure horror when you noticed how far away you are from the safety of the ground. You are high up in the air, your shoes clad feet dangling like loopy noodles beneath you. You can see the breathe taking and magnificent view of San Fransokyo from this height the buildings looking like normal Lego blocks and the people merely looking like ants, yet you don't have time to admire it in your current situation.

But no, you're not scared.

Just terrified.

"Put me down!" You screamed, trashing around like the stubborn fifteen year old that you are. You realized a robot in red and purple suit is carrying you in one arm, its attention straight ahead. You cocked your head to a side. Who knew someone can build something as awesome as this.

A person with a purple helmet on popped on one side, and for some reason, you can literally hear him smirking smugly at your horrified state. You even heard him chuckle, mumbling a small insult before speaking. "Do you really want us to do that? You might regret it." He states with a teasing tone attached to his familiar voice.

"W-what?" You spluttered, entranced by the guy's familiar voice, "Just put me down! Put me down!" You demanded through the harsh wind but abruptly shut up and gagged. "Eww! I think I just ate a bug!"
