Something told Aura everyone had a right to fear her.

"You know what, I'm sorry--this is stupid I--"

"No." Aura interrupted. Reaching out to stop her while the girl was in mid action of removing herself from Aura's private little table. "It's not."

Those two words seemed to beat to life a sense of hope in her violet eyes. A relieved laugh escaping her lips, "You don't?"

What harm could there be in one friend?

"No. In fact," Aura smiled, making sure to send her a soothing aura so that Tanya could relax. She felt the effect her power was having on her when Tanya seemed to deflate, as if she were holding in her breath, and when all her facial muscles and shoulders went slack after being so nervous. "I think that's a great idea."

It was at the precise moment the lion decided to prowl into Aura's territory.

If Aura had hackles, they would rise.

"Lol. So you resort to this-" her feline eyes narrowed on Aura though she was clearly speaking to Tanya "-since you couldn't make any friends."

Tanya sighed. She didn't even bother wasting a breath on the new girl.

Not to say Aura didn't feel the sting she was clearly implying after having directed that to Tanya.

If the hall hadn't gone silent when Tanya came to speak to Aura, it did now.

"You're way in over your head coming here lion cub." Aura drawled lazily. However, it seemed to be that drawl exactly that made her all the more threatening.

"Excuse me?"

Aura didn't miss the flinch of confusion that she quickly covered up. She was confused as to how Aura knew what she was.

"I know what everyone is." She smiled, staring her dead in the eye.

It was as if everyone was leaning into the scene. No one had approached Aura like this since... ever. She was finding it all quite overwhelming.... or not.

"And you have quite the balls coming to me when you haven't even completely developed." Aura continued, her eyes daring Amber to say any more.

"Lol! Considering you have no boobs, no body to speak of. You can talk about developing." She barked vainly.

Aura took her time to look at her own breasts before looking at Amber's and then looking at her face. Aura was a strong C cup. Amber was an F at most. At fourteen, she might not be as developed as her, but at this point in her age it didn't matter.

"You thought I meant that kind of developing?" Aura asked, her brow raising. People were starting to surround them. Wolves pushing their way to the front.

"What other kind could you mean?" She laughed harshly, rolling her hazel gold eyes, batting those disgustingly mascara coated lashes. How could anyone find any time for make up in a place like this?

"Listen love, you're new here." Aura started, rising to her full height. She was quite tall for her age, at 5'7. She was impressed Amber didn't step back, being that she reached Aura's brows."Bum and boobs aren't going to keep you alive outside unless you sell your body to a whore house. And that's if the vampires don't eat you first-or while you're there. Your powers haven't even started to develop to potential to try me. Stop wasting my time trying to prove yourself in front of the wolves."

It wasn't that she was cocky. But Aura liked being left alone. If she sounded harsh, that would achieve her end result. Even if it made her sound arrogant.

There was a loud hum of oooooo as Aura moved to push past her. But with the sting of embarrassment Amber decided she wasn't done with her until she got her own back.

A vice like grip wrapped around Aura's forearm.

"You think you're so hard don't you." She hissed.

"Oh I don't think love."

"I'm a lion. What the fuck are you supposed to be hmm? I bet you got everyone thinking you're some kind of wolf because you're hiding behind some shit animal."

It was so so tempting to dash her and show everyone what she truely was, especially white the taunting crowd that echoed around them. Especially when that forsaken smirk adorned the lions lips. But Aura was no where near angry enough to reveal herself. In fact, she wasn't angry at all.

Instead, she pitied her.

For trying so hard.

But she has to make some kind of face to be left alone. So Aura looked her dead in the eye. The temperature dropped, but that was because of Amos, who she felt beside her. Everything went into that gaze, she pulled at the wind around her, leaving everyone alone, but making her hair float in a halo, letting a snippet of the energy of her power into the air for all to feel.

Amber lost her smirk somewhere in the dawning that she really did come way in over her head. She felt it.

The lion hissed, retracting her hand from Aura's arm when the angel decided to burn it for touching her skin. A stream of smoke drifted from Amber's fingers as her eyes swelled with pain.

Despite those tears she showed a brave face and didn't touch her hand. Nor did she look away from Aura.

"Touch me again, and I'll take your arm next time."

No more was needed to say. It was enough.

The room echoed with silence.

Aura turned away, the crowd parting for her exit.

It was clear she had won that round. But when she sensed such a strong hatred from the lion she wondered if she had perhaps made an enemy.

Lion shifters may not be as powerful and unique as the wolf, but still a dangerous foe to make nonetheless.

She knew this would come back to bite her in the ass someday.

It didn't matter.

She had mermaids to look for.
