"I have to go." I stood up and brushed off imaginary food crumbs from my clothes.

"Kimberly? Call me if you feel scared or threatened anyhow okay? I have body guards for you but if you still don't feel safe call me." His eyes were pleading with my cold ones. I just gave him a stiff nod and walked out of the house.

Lobos has unlocked the house for me, since well it needs his hand print.

I walked swiftly towards the town car waiting for me. The body guards were driving in a separate car. I was just overwhelmed that I took a minute to think of how my life has changed.

1. I'm being driven in a town car
2. I have body guards
3. I'm wearing bloody expensive clothes
4. I live in a mansion
5. I'm surrounded by drug dealers
6. I've witnessed a murder
7. I'm in hiding
8. My boss is hot and devious.

Let me stop right there before I get a migraine.

My driver took a swift look at me and greeted me and asked if I was okay. I mean, I just walked out of the house all elegantly to just stand on the side of the car and observed the situation and have an internal conflict, of course I am not okay!

Mastering a fake smile, I told my driver whose name happens to be Simon that I was absolutely fine. That seemed to work for him since he nodded and opened the back door for me allowing me to settle in before closing it.

The ride to work was uneventful. I was bored to say the least. My life was pleasant when I was working at the diner. Yes it was boring but I felt safe all the time. Now? I have to constantly look over my shoulder and I am afraid of my boss and I can't quit my job because he is protecting me.

I arrived at work and everybody seemed to be in already. They noticed the body guards walking behind me, following me to the elevator. They weren't hard to notice, clad in all black suits with Bluetooth pieces plugged in their ears, their hulk physique preceded them. I was uncomfortable with the situation but damn it my life mattered bloody much I just had to get on board.

I unlocked Lobos's office and settled down. One body guard was inside with me while the other one was outside the office. Lobos Empire has to be one of the safest buildings I know, but when drug dealers are involved you will never know what could happen next.

I pulled out my laptop and the envelope. The work was intense, I even had to sit through some meetings and take messages for Mr Lobos.

Everything went out of the window. And by everything I mean the Lobos drug dealing shit. I was swallowed up by work I didn't even have time for tea. Not that I had any time before.

My day was fine but being followed constantly by bodyguards wasn't thrilling. When I walked in the boardroom this morning I received quite some stares and I wasn't comfortable at all. I wanted the world to part so I can dive right in and let it swallow me whole. Being center of attention wasn't something I fancied.

I went through every meeting and I typed all the minutes for Lobos, immediately e-mailing the important ones.

The office phone rang, for the millionth time today.

"Lobos Empire, Mr Lobos's office Kimberly speaking how may I help you?" I pressed the phone between my ear and shoulder, while typing the minutes from the last meeting.

"Hi Kimberly! It's Christina from finance? Umm when is Mr Lobos coming through? We have a major crisis that needs his specialty." Christina's voice was just too raw and a little groggy. She sounded like she was tired.

"Uhh can you bring it up here? I'll make sure he gets it." I suggested and she was fine with it.

Minutes later Christina was in the office pacing around as I took a look at the financial report and the mistakes they made. I may have worked at a diner, went to a community college but I was very smart, I chose to study communications and business management but I didn't finish with the business management due to constricted finances.
