Chapter 7: Tsukiko captured by Naraku

Inside the shrine...
Naraku is sitting beside Tsukiko who's still unconscious, until she finally started to open her eyes,
"Ugh...hmmm...wh..where is... this?"
"I see that you're awake, Tsukiko," Naraku said
"...Kage..waki? Huh!? Kagewaki!" Tsukiko suddenly sits up from the mattress "H-how? I-I was..."

'She doesn't suspect me, she still thinks that I am Kagewaki...'
"If you're wondering why you're here, I found you unconscious in the woods near this shrine," Naraku said
"I-I see....I'm sorry to trouble you, Kagewaki," Tsukiko said looking at the ground "You're...not surprised..that I'm a half-breed?" Tsukiko said to him,
"No, because it's not really a problem for me," Naraku said to her,
"I-I see, I'm sorry I didn't tell you,"

"I'm glad that you found me, Kagewaki," Tsukiko said

"You...trust me, Tsukiko?" Naraku asked making Tsukiko tilt her head,
"Why do you ask that?"
"We've only met once, and we didn't spent that much time together, so why do you trust me? A complete stranger,"
"Well...If I didn't trust you, would I accepted this necklace from you?" Tsukiko said holding out the necklace Naraku gave her,

"You..still have it?" Naraku became a little surprised when he saw that Tsukiko still has the stone necklace,
"Of course, why would I throw it away?" Tsukiko said with a smile, making Naraku stare at her in disbelief,

'She's completely forgotten that she was abducted by me, but why was I a little bit.....glad? That she didn't throw away the necklace?'

"Ah! Kagewaki look!" Tsukiko went outside the room, toward the garden at the back of the shrine, there grew many cherry blossom trees, and it's in full bloom,
"They're only flowers....." Naraku said to himself,
Tsukiko started dancing gracefully around the cherry blossom trees,

Naraku stares at her as she dance in the rain of cherry blossom petals,
As for Kagura, she's above in the air on her giant-feather, she watches Tsukiko as well,

'This girl...what is she to Naraku? He wouldn't let this girl loose like this, moreover
with the way she's now, she doesn't look like a hostage to me,'
Kagura then looks at Naraku and is surprised to see him.....smiling!

"Kagura...?" Suddenly Byakuya appears "It's not nice to spy on people,"
"Huh! You're suppose to be on that side, why are you here?...you're curious about them too, right?"
"Hmmm, you caught me, yes I am curious about the two of them especially what did that girl did to Naraku which cause him to be smiling so....peacefully?" Byakuya said holding his chin looking interested,

Meanwhile....
"Darn it! He's not here either!" Inuyasha said punching a tree,
"We've been to many places and what we found are only packs of miasma!" Jaken said
"Naraku probably did this on purpose to stall us, he goes to different places and plants an enormous amount of miasma to lure Inuyasha and Sesshomaru,"

"Yeah, and it worked! Damn it!" Inuyasha said
"Calm down, Inuyasha, Sesshomaru where's the next spot?" Kagome said

"Instead of trying to track down Naraku, why not Tsukiko?" Sesshomaru said
"Huh?"
"I can smell her scent......this one is strong, follow me," Sesshomaru said and he starts to take off,
"You mean you got her scent?" Sango asked,
"Yeah, I can smell her too! Let's go!" Inuyasha said
"We have to hurry, who knows what Naraku's doing to her," Kagome said

Back at Naraku's hideout
Tsukiko and Naraku are talking with each other,
"Say Kagewaki,"
"What is it?"
"Well this may be a weird question, but have we met before? Before I found you in the forest,"
"No, I don't think so,"
"I see...."

"Aren't you lonely?" Tsukiko asked
"Why do you ask?"
"Well, before you met those three outside, were you lonely or did you have someone you cared or loved?" Tsukiko asked him and the one person that comes to mind is Kikyo,
"Well, there was a time when I fell in love with a woman, but I wasn't able to tell her how I feel,"
"I see, then are you still lonely?" Tsukiko asked

"Why are you asking me the same question?"
"It's just that, you look so....miserable and sad to me, it makes me think that you're lonely," Tsukiko said looking a bit sad as he stares at Naraku,

What Tsukiko said made his heart constrict, it felt like his heart is being stabbed, it's like the more he spends time with her, the more human he felt,
"Do I look that miserable to you?" Naraku asked and she nodded silently,

He sighs "For years, I've never been loved by anyone....to tell you the truth I was in a group bandits,"
"Huh? Really?"
"Because of my spider-scar..." Naraku touch his back "I was nicknamed, Onigumo"

The chief didn't really like me, but I once tricked him and he was angered and tried to kill me, but in the end that woman saved me, and I fell for her but she was already in love with someone else," Naraku told him about his life as Onigumo,

"But, what about before you joined the bandits, what was your childhood like?" Tsukiko asked
"I don't really remember much, but....." Then an image of a girl smiling at him flashes through his mind, which surprised him,
"Kagewaki? Kagewaki?" Tsukiko called out to him,

"Sorry...well there was a girl that I met when I was a young boy, I was an orphan and suddenly one day she came to me, I don't remember much but we spent a few days together....I think I got injured on that day.." Naraku whispered the last words,
"She must be a nice person..." Tsukiko said

"Well....." Then the image of the girl smiling again flashes in his mind, and that made Naraku smile a bit "I guess she is..."

Suddenly, a crash from outside can be heard, surprising Tsukiko and Naraku,
'They're here! Damn it! I lost track of time,'

"Kagewaki,what's goin-! Hmph!" Naraku covered Tsukiko's mouth with his hand,
"Be quite,"

"Tsukiko! Tsukiko!" Inuyasha and the others voice can be heard outside,
"Naraku! Show yourself!" Inuyasha's voice can be heard outside the shrine,

'Naraku!?...Kagewaki is........Naraku?' Tsukiko thought looking up at him, shocked
