Chapter 6: Third Wheel

She approached you. "Hey," she whispered. "Did you tell her? Did you talk to Dipper?" You shook your head. Wendy frowned. "Just tell Mabel already!"

The twins snapped their attention to the two of you. You facepalmed. Way to go, Wendy.

"Tell me what?" Mabel grinned. You started to panic.

You and Wendy just stood there awkwardly in a very long time, before you coughed. "Um... uh-"

"Uh!" Wendy said. "Y/N was asking the two of you if-"

"If you guys want to hang out with us!" You finished. "Yeah! Hang out with us! Nothing suspicious, really. Yeah."

Dipper narrowed his eyes. "O...'kay. Mabel, are you coming?"

"Of course!" Mabel said. "I'll always go with you, guys. Every step of the-- OH MY GOSH A PIG!" She ran so fast with her hands flailing, leaving you with Dipper and Wendy.

"So... what now?" Wendy asked.

"I'm up for anything." Dipper replied, as you nod.

The three of you were having fun- scratch that, just the two of them. You felt really left out, so you just left them and walked away, before you heard Wendy said, "I don't know if it's a duck or a panda, but I want one!"

You sighed as you put your hands in your pockets. You went to find Mabel. Eventually, you saw her with a pig in her hands. "Aw, it's so cute!" You gushed. "What's their name?"

"I named him Waddles, 'cause he waddles! Isn't that right, Waddles?" He oinked in delight, whereas Mabel screamed in joy. You laughed as well, because they are both adorable together.

After a while, Mabel looked at you. "Hey, weren't you with Dipper and Wendy? I thought you're all hanging out."

You scoffed. "More like third-wheeling them."

Mabel laughed as if it was a joke. She then sighed, glancing at the two of them. "Aren't they cute."

"They sure are." You faked being enthusiastic. You sighed. You can't deny it, it was really true.

You were talking with Mabel when suddenly, Dipper walked towards the two of you. You stared at him in confusion. "Where's Wendy...?"

He didn't say anything. Instead, he pointed at Robbie, who was taking Wendy for a ride in the Tunnel of Love and Corndogs.

You put out your tongue in disgust. "Ugh." You turned to Dipper and pat his back. "It's okay, Dipper. Robbie's a jerk."

"No, it's my fault," Dipper said. "If I haven't thrown so badly, then I wouldn't have hit Wendy in the eye. And-and I could've given her a bag of ice if it weren't for..." He saw the same bald guy he bumped into. "You!"

6 pm, just as the Mystery Fair closes, you took a deep breath when you saw Mabel playing with her pig.

You walked towards her, as you tried to be calm as possible. You sat beside her. "Hey, Mabel."

"Hi, Y/N! Say hi, Waddles!" He oinked in reply. Mabel screeched.

You smiled. "Mabel..." you put on a serious face. "I need to tell you sonething."

"Sure. What is it?"

"Um..." you stuttered. You weren't sure if you could do this. Wendy saw the whole thing and decided to help you.

She ran towards Mabel and yelled. "She likes Dipper!"

"Wendy!" You screamed.

"What? You were taking too long," she complained.

Mabel gasped. "Wait, you liked Dipper this whole time?! Oh my-" She screamed so loud, it made Waddles cower in fear and you had to cover your ears. After a while, she paused. "Wait," she turned towards you. "Didn't Dipper like Wendy?"

"I know." You sighed.

"But, Wendy," Mabel looked at her slowly. "Do you like him?"

"Yeah, I do."

Your heart almost snapped in two. You stare at her frantically and sadly.

Wendy, getting the gesture, suddenly flailed her hands. "No! Not that way. I like him as a friend!"

You sighed, feeling relieved and okay.

Mabel screamed again. "Oh, gosh! The two of you are perfect for each other, Y/N!" You blushed at her comment. Wendy agreed.

Oh, no. Two fangirls are shipping you with Dipper.

But you like it.

"Okay," Mabel rubbed her chin. "We gotta devise a plan for you to be with him." You rolled your eyes. They sure always have your back.
