A Smash Bros. Adventure (Old Version)

Chapter 2: Meeting New Friends

Me: "How did you find out?"

Jacob: "The same way you did."

Me: "Oh."

I started eating my food. Jacob ignored his and started talking to me.

Jacob: "So, our classes start tomorrow at 9:00 meaning we have the entire day to explore the campus. What do you want to do first?"

Me: "Well," I said swallowing my food. "I heard there was a nature trail. Wanna explore that?"

Jacob: "Sure. I don't mind a bit of Mother Nature."

When we were done eating, we got up, threw our leftovers away, and went outside. It didn't take long to find the nature trail. We both walked and talked until we got to a lake. The scenery was beautiful. There were mountains in the background with clouds rolling over them. I've never seen anything like it before. Well, not in real life anyways.

Jacob: "Doesn't that just take your breath away?"

Me: "Yeah. I could stare at it for hours.

Before anyone could say anything else we saw bubbles coming from the lake. We went closer to observe them. Before we could react a Gyarados came out of the water. I couldn't believe my eyes.

Me: "Are you seeing the same thing I am?"

Jacob: "I think so, tho I wish I wasn't."

We both turned around and started running but we weren't fast enough. Gyarados used aqua tail on me and I went flying into the sky. I looked down and saw Gyarados with his mouth wide open. I closed my eyes thinking I was done for. But instead of feeling teeth in my flesh, I felt something grab me. I looked up and saw a Charizard carrying me to safety. He dropped me next to Jacob and flew towards Gyarados. A yellow mouse, who I soon identified as Pikachu, joined in. They both fought until Gyarados went back into the water.

???: "Great job, Pikachu," said a voice to our right.

???: "At' a boy, Charizard," said another voice to our left.

We both looked and saw Ash and Red standing right beside us.

Ash: "You both alright?"

We both nodded.

Red: "You should be more careful. Pokémon could be behind any corner and you have to be ready when they decide to pop out in front of you."

Jacob: "Thanks, but we don't even have our own Pokémon."

Ash: "What? You have to have your own Pokémon." Pikachu jumped up on Ash's shoulder. "Building a relationship with your Pokémon is very important, especially if you don't want to become a Pokémon's snack."

Pikachu: "Pika, pika."

Ash and Red each pulled a pokéball out of their pockets. They tossed them at us and we both caught them.

Red: "Next time you see a Pokémon, try to capture it with that. If you need any more pokéballs or a potion just visit the campus pokémart."

This college had a pokémart? How many more surprises were there? Jacob and I both nodded. Red put Charizard in a pokéball and started walking away. Ash followed him.

Ash: "Bye. I hope we meat again sometime."

Pikachu: "Pika, pi."

We both waved bye to our new friends. I couldn't stop smiling. This was like the best dream ever, but it was actually real! I couldn't wait to meet the rest of  our favorite Nintendo characters.

After exploring the campus for some time, the sun was almost gone. So, we headed back to our dorm. I looked at the pokéball that Ash gave me. It looked so cool. I then noticed my wrist. My bracelet was gone!

Me: "Oh no. Jacob!"

Jacob: "Yes, Nathan?"

Me: "My bracelet is gone. It must have fallen off when we encountered Gyarados."

Jacob: "Don't worry. We'll look for it in the morning before our classes start. Ok?"

Me: I let out a sigh. "Ok." That bracelet meant a lot to me. I couldn't bare to lose it.

We walked into our room and got ready for bed. I sat on my bead thinking of where my bracelet could be. It was my favorite. I could still remember how I got it. I was just riding my bike like I normally do when all of a sudden I saw something shiny on the side of the road. I stopped and picked it up... and there it was. I felt that it couldn't have been by luck that I had just found it there, it had to be something more. I didn't want to stay up all night worried about my bracelet so I laid down, closed my eyes, and tried to get some sleep.
