"She's right," the third girl nodded. "Gina, please don't--"
"Can you just at least shut up while I'm trying to deal with this issue here? She took our seats!"
"Can I help you girls with something?" a male voice spoke up.
Surprised at the new voice that joined the conversation, you turned around to see a handsome young boy with fluffy raven black hair and big brown eyes standing by with two mugs in his hands. Instantly, you saw Gina's attitude change from furious to flirty.
"Yes," Gina nodded, batting her eyelashes, making you stick your tongue out in disgust. "I need you to get this girl out of her seat. We always sit here when we come by, you know--"
"Gina, for the last time, we should just find another place to sit!" the second girl almost begged.
"I don't think so!" Gina snapped.
"What is your big deal, anyway!" you shouted, and everyone snapped their heads towards you. "Your friends are right, there are so many other spots you can choose from! Just because I decided to sit here doesn't mean that you can force me out! And for your information, I pretty much sit here too, every time I come here! And no one bothered shooing me away!"
The poor boy looked completely lost as he snapped his head back and forth at the both of you arguing.
"Well, if you really aren't going to cooperate, I'll have to put you under arrest for stealing my spot!" Gina finally decided.
Instantly, your jaw dropped in horror. "W-what?! No! That's--"
"Completely stupid," the boy cut in, placing his mugs down. "Look, this girl is right," he added, gesturing to you. "There are tons of good spots here in the Café. And your friends are right too. Every seat in the Café offers great views of the city. So, everyone, just cool it."
"Exactly!" the third blonde cried. "I mean, there's this other cute area over there where we can sit and chat," she said, gesturing towards another table just opposite of the Café, which offered an amazing view of the harbor beyond the eye can see.
Surprised at the sudden change in events, Gina eventually huffed. "You're going to regret this, Hiro," she muttered, hoisting her bag up as she walked away with her cappuccino, her friends sending you grateful glances as they followed her.
The boy--Hiro, did Gina call him?--eventually turned to you. "I'm really sorry about them."
You shook your head and smiled in gratitude. "Nah. It's fine. I just didn't expect Gina to fire up so easily, you know."
"Yeah, especially with something like seating," Hiro laughed hollowly. "I mean, honestly, I didn't expect her to fire up against one of our usual customers either. Though I'm sure she acts like that all the time."
"To everyone except you," you said flatly.
"Oh, yeah, about that..." Hiro scratched his head and stuck out his own tongue in disgust. "She's been trying to get my attention, you know. Her father is a rich billionaire in San Fransokyo, after all."
"A rich girl, and a snob." You scoffed lightly in Gina's direction. "As if that doesn't sound familiar."
"I'm just glad you stuck up for what you thought was right. After all, I haven't seen anyone fight against her yet," Hiro remarked in pure admiration. "Anyway, I uh...I have to get these orders over to other customers first. Can I join you later? My shift ends soon anyway."
Normally, you would tend to say no. You enjoyed your own company just fine. Besides, your parents wouldn't have expected you to stay out for so long. But this boy seemed so nice, kind even. You found yourself nodding against your will. "Sure, I'd love that...uh..."
"Hiro," he introduced himself. "Hiro Hamada. And you are?"
"(Y/N)," you said, holding out a hand for him to shake, which he accepted.
"Well, I'll chat with you soon," Hiro promised, picking up his mugs, which he passed gratefully to the other customers. You nodded as you sank back into your seat, smiling ruefully. Perhaps this was the best time to make a new friend.
And made one you did that very day.
Okay, maybe there was more Miraculous inspiration than I thought! But oh well, I kinda liked this one, though there wasn't too much Hiro in it.
Yeah, I know it's short. I don't know if there'll be a second part--there might, just give me the word if you want one! I really enjoyed writing this little story. :)Good news--I got all the requests back, so I'll try to get started on them if I don't get too carried away with other things like Author Games and stuff like that. Thank you all for your patience!
