"I would rather have no blood running in my veins!" I spat.
"You know what I would rather have? Not a bitch as a daughter," he snapped, his face was now red, but not redder than mine.
"Well, now you don't have any daughters," I stood up and walked out.
If I was a cartoon, steam would be coming out of my ears.
I stepped outside of the restaurant to feel the cold wind hit me. I felt a tap on my shoulder, I turned around to see Devil looking at me.
"Go back inside, it's cold out here."
"No, not without you," he said looking at me with worry.
"Devon, go inside," I said louder than necessary.
"You said my name again."
"Because I'm serious."
"At least take my jacket," he smiled taking his jacket off and pushing it towards me.
"Thanks, go inside now. I don't want you to see me cry," I cracked a smile.
"Your mascara will run," he said in an attempt of making me laugh.
"It's waterproof," I said just as a tear broke out.
I turned around and walked away, putting my arms inside his leather jacket.
In a few footsteps, I was running. Running was a good way to let steam out. At this point, not just one but many tears broke free and I was pouring. The cold wind drying my tears instantly.
I ran faster and faster by every minute. There was no stopping me... Until I hit a wall, it felt like.
I looked up to see a figure, similar to a wall.
"Um... Lia?" I looked even higher to see Hunter's face looking down at me in confusion.
More tears rolled down my cheeks. I instantly wrapped my arms around his torso, sobbing with my face in his jacket.
"Are you crying?" He asked, hesitantly wrapping his one arm around my back and the other on the back of my head.
"Maybe," I muffled in his chest.
"You're able to cry?" He teased and I punched him on his back with one of my arms.
"But seriously, are you alright?" He said, concern laced in his deep voice. I can feel the vibration on his chest as he spoke.
"Whose legs do I need to break?" He asked and I wiped away my tears on his jacket.
"I'm alright, now," I said letting him go.
"Whose legs do I need to break?" He repeated his question.
"Daniel," I whispered wiping away the rest of the tears with the back of my hand.
"Who is this Daniel?" He asked raising his eyebrow.
"My mother's ex-husband," I said looking down at his legs.
"Your father?" He asked.
"No, he is not my father..."
I felt two arms wrap around me, "it's okay," he whispered comfortingly.
"He called me a bitch, too..." I muffled in his chest once more, my tears starting to roll down again.
"Well, he is a dick for saying such a thing," Hunter said placing his chin on top of my head.
I separated from him, "you call that all the time!"
"Well, that is because I can," he smirked at me.
"You're not making me feel any better."
"And you're making me late, I am on my way to the farm house, aren't you coming too?"
"Yes I am, but I don't want to face mom right now... She will ask me too many questions," I said.
I knew he had no idea what I was talking about but he nodded knowingly, "you can just come with me."
I sighed in relief.
"Thanks," I smiled at him.

I had been sitting quietly in the passenger seat and Hunter drove the car. It was getting dark and I kept wondering if Devil ate anything. I was trying not to think about Daniel's hurtful words but it kept on replaying in my head.
'Bitch as a daughter'
That's what he called. He didn't think once what type of person he was before he judged me. He didn't realize I was that bitchy because of what he did to mom. It was all his fault! Every problem I was facing was because of him, without him ever entering my mom's life... Everything would've been just the way mom wanted. Not the way anyone else wanted.
"Hey, you aren't that big of a bitch. I mean you aren't nice either but you're not that bad," Hunter said cutting my thoughts short.
"Thanks... That makes me feel so much better," I said sarcastically, dragging the word 'so'.
"You're welcome," he sent me a wink.
