Stuck In The Maze

     I took all my energy out on that tree, so I became quite tired. I rested back in my spot against the wall and closed my eyes, letting sleep overtake me.

                                    ~TIME SKIP~

     I woke up to the sun shining into my face. I was still in the woods, surprised Newt didn't come and find me. Doesn't really matter though. I stood up and and my way to the glade, figuring I might have over slept just a bit. I got to the homestead to see that everyone was awake. I looked over to the kitchen to see no one there, I must have missed breakfast. 

     I glanced around and saw that everyone was working, like usual. I missed being in the glade during this time, instead of the maze. I frowned as my gaze fell upon Gally, who saw me and scowled. He made his way towards me and I knew this couldn't end well.

     "Why are you here? You should have went into the maze a couple hours ago!" he growled.

     "Sorry to burst your bubble. Last night I ran off into the woods and fell asleep. No one came and looked for me, so I over slept." I stated.

     His face softened, but soon went back to rage.

     "Newt spent 2 hours looking for your ass. Do you know how worried you had him?!" he yelled.

     "Why do you care?! You and Newt hate each other!" I yelled back.

     He paused and finally, looking defeated, he sighed. He rubbed his face with his hands and closed his eyes.

     "Look, i'm just a little on edge tod-" 

     "More like everyday." I said.

     "Shut up and let me finish. (Y/N), I don't hate you. I never wanted to really cause what has been. I would love to see you around the glade and become friends, but it won't happen. I'm sorry for always being angry with you. I-it's just ever since you, the only girl, came up in the box, things have been changing." he said.

     I sighed and reached out my hand. He looked at me confused and I sighed in frustration.

     "Just shake my damn hand." I said.

     He gripped my hand and shook it firmly. We both smiled and I let go.

     "Hi Gally. Nice to meet you, i'm (Y/N)." I said.

     He smiled, understanding what I was hinting at.

     "Hi (Y/N), nice to meet you too." he said.

     I nodded and walked off, damn that was weird. Oh well, at least we don't hate each other anymore... I think. I saw Alby and Newt walking around, Alby looked kind of pissed. I walked closer and could hear a little of what they were talking about. 

     'Newt I can't change her job.'

     'Alby please.'

     'I want to, I do. Then what would we do with her?'  

     'Make her a track-hoe! Or a medjack! Just please!'

     'I'll think about it. For now, you need to get back to work.'

     They both turned around to see me staring at them. Newt flushed and looked down at the ground.

     "Hey love." Newt mumbled.

     "Why aren't you in the maze?" Alby shot.

     "I ran off into the woods last night, fell asleep, and woke up late." I explained.
