Chapter 31: Naraku's change of heart and Onigumo's memories

When Onigumo finally stops running, he rested under a tree and he takes out the fish he stole,
"Well...it's better than nothing," He said, he starts a fire to cook the fish,

While he's waiting for the fish, he suddenly felt someone behind him, he jumps away and when he looks back, he sees a girl with long white hair, yellow gold eyes and dog ears,
It was Tsukiko! But looks a bit younger,
"W-what? You have dog ears?...You're a demon!" Onigumo said and he takes out a knife,

"H-hey calm down, I'm not going to hurt you," Tsukiko said
"Shut up! All demons are like that!"
"Well sorry to disappoint you but I'm not a demon, to be precise I'm a half-demon," Tsukiko said "Here," Tsukiko held out a net full of fish,

"I saw that you were hungry so I caught more fish for you," Tsukiko said
"You stole them?"
"Of course not! I caught them in a river," Tsukiko said
"You sure you're giving this to me?"
"Yeah, let's share!" Tsukiko said
"No way,"
"Hey! I was the one who caught them," Tsukiko pouted

And so, she and Onigumo ate all of the fishes, after that they went to lie down under the tree,
"So...what's your name?" Tsukiko asked,
".....I don't have one...," Onigumo said
"....sorry,"
"....I'm an orphan...the orphanage wasn't that nice to live in....so I ran away,"

"I see....forgive me for asking.." Tsukiko apologized,
"What about you?"
"Me? My name is Tsukiko, and I live with my mother's friend,"
"What? You're not living with your parents?"
"No....they're gone now..." Tsukiko said
Onigumo also felt sad for her, and ever since that day, they began to spend their days together,

On one day, while they're playing near the forest,
A demon suddenly attack them, there were so many,
Tsukiko killed many but one was able to crept behind her, it was a spider demon,

Before it could hit her, Onigumo quickly pushed her away and took the hit instead,
The demon spider spewed web that burns Onigumo's back,

Tsukiko attacked the spider demon but it uses another demon to defend it, and it escapes,
Tsukiko quickly tend to Onigumo's burn,

It took days for it to heal, until it leaves a scar which Naraku now has,
"Is it bad?" Onigumo asked,
"Well...not really," Tsukiko said

"But it's kind of cool to have this kind of scar," Onigumo said "I think I know what I'm going to call myself,"
"And that is?"
"....Onigumo," He said
"That's quite nice," Tsukiko said
"Right?" Onigumo said with a prideful smile,

But then one day, a group of villagers came to them,
"You there! Demon!" One of the villagers said
"Let that boy go! Come here!"

"What!?" Onigumo said
"I'm sorry but I didn't hurt him in anyway," Tsukiko said
"Lies! Look at the child's back! It has a horrible scar!"
"Hey! It wasn't her!" Onigumo said defending Tsukiko,

"Boy, why do you defend this demon?...You have been bewitched! Capture him!"
"Tsukiko run!" Then the two of them starts to run away,

But Onigumo got tripped,
"Onigumo!" Tsukiko went back to get him, but an arrow flew right at her shoulder,
"Agghh!" Tsukiko groaned, then more arrows flew at her, it would seem that the arrows were shot by a group of priestesses,
"Tsukikooooo!!!" Onigumo shouted, but then he was made unconscious,
