"Sorry, dear." Mettaton said with a smirk and blocked your path as you reached for the selector device.
"Huh?"
"Oh? No one told (y/n) the rules yet? That's okay. I get the honor of explaining." He said with a cheeky smile, causing chills of confusion to run down your back. "Now, the rules are that the last two that sing are to go solo and have to sing the song that the rest of us choose. So everyone, what should (y/n) sing for us today?"
"Well, darn it." You spat and backed away from the machine with a frown. Everyone huddled together, murmuring and giggling excitedly. Sans seemed to have scrunched himself against the couch, squirming uncomfortably as he glanced over at the group. Eventually Undyne backed up out of the group at turned to you.
"Alright! (Y/n)! You shall be singing..." She grinned as she pointed at you dramatically. "...Colors by Halsey."
"Oh." You smiled. You actually liked that song...the melody anyways. But whatever. Mettaton quickly pulled up the song and the music began to play. Carefully, you listened for the right beginning note. It came a lot quicker than you anticipated but you caught it right on. Throughout the first verse, you could feel your voice crack from the straining in volume. It wasn't long until everyone started to cheer you on, which surprised you. Hah, what? You guys are...cheering?
"~Everything is blue~" You tried to sing this as well as possible, but you noticed that whenever your voice faltered, everyone seemed to have cheered a bit louder to mask your mishap. Why are you guys covering up my voice? Isn't this suppose to be for mistakes and humor?
Out of the corner of your eye, you could see Sans smile up at you, causing your cheeks to flush in a light pink and confidence to swarm your head. Eventually the song ended...not the best but overall, it was decent. Okay, let's be real. That was terrible.
"Now, darling! I never knew you had a voice like that!" Mettaton exclaimed suddenly and hugged you. His face drew itself oddly close to your ear, just enough to hear his low whisper. "Can you preform next Friday for my show?"
"Uh-" You let out from the sudden request. First of all, you thought your singing was horrible so...Mettaton asking for you to sing...on his show? He just winked and smiled brightly.
"It's okay, I don't need an immediate response, darling."
"Okay then..." You mumbled through a smile and started your way towards Sans. You plopped yourself next to him and squished yourself playfully against the skeleton. His cheekbones started to become a light tint of blue. "Looks like someone has to sing for us now."
"Oh yeah! Dunkle Sans!" Frisk cheered as Sans buried himself in his hood, blushing from the sudden attention.
"Can I just pass?"
"NO, SANS! YOU DID THAT LAST TIME!" Papyrus said and crossed his arms. Everyone murmured in agreement. You smirked and started to nudge Sans a bit more.
"Please?" You asked as innocently as possible. He held in his breath as he glanced up at you. The tension was high from being locked in eye contact. You tried as hard as you could to prevent loosing yourself to fantasy, but you couldn't help but chuckle from his cuteness. Just when you were about to break your stare, he gave in and stood up.
"Fine." He grumbled and pulled out the microphone that was stuffed into his pocket earlier. "Hurry up and give me a song."
