Chapter 29

I see his teeth clench and as do mine, tears running down both our cheeks.

"I can't believe you said that. I love my job and that's why I work hard for it." He defends himself and I scoff kicking the floor.

"Then stop complaining about the amount of work you have to do! I will have to work ages too but I'm not complaining am I? I'm going to have to work just as hard, maybe harder than you!" I yell.

"Well, you just complained about it."

Just as I'm about to reply, the loudspeaker goes off and explains that my flight has to go immediately to boarding as soon as possible. I glare at Louis before starting to walk away.

I turn around quickly just to add, "I don't know why I ever thought that I loved you." With that, I turn on my heals and drag my bags away from him, leaving a trail of dust where I was standing.

Louis' POV

I can't believe she left me with that. I can't believe she fought with me over nothing. I can't believe we ended with that. 

I don't know why I ever thought I loved you.

The words replay in my head, again and again. I just can't seem to let it go. 

She loved me, I loved her. We never told each other and we never will go back to where we were before.

I sit down on a chair to the left of the gate she just exited through and lower my head, running a hand through my messy hair. I came all the way here to say goodbye, when all I got was a fight.

I let the tears stop flowing out of my eyes, wiping them and hiding my face from everyone who walks past. I let myself calm down a little before heading off back to my car.

I look back to the place where I last saw Amber and I sigh deeply. Why did we have to end it like this.

I walk back to the car and see Harry beeping at me, telling me that he's over there. I run up to the car and see Niall, Liam and Zayn sitting in the back. I sit in the front passenger seat and sigh, resting my head on my hand.

"It's ok buddy. You can just call each other." Niall pipes up from the back, seeing my red eyes.

"It's not that." I say, hiding my face from the boys as Harry starts driving. "It's just... we kind of fought and she left me there."

"Wait what?" Harry says, suddenly stopping the car in a close loading zone.

"I was telling her that we could Skype and stuff, then she lost it and started fighting with me and I couldn't help but defend myself and she walked away, leaving me with a I don't know why I ever thought I loved you." I tell them.

"Oh no she didn't!" Niall says sassily and clicking his fingers, failing to make me laugh.

"Try texting her. If she doesn't reply, she's not worth a great guy like you." Zayn says from behind me.

"Zayn you sure you're not a girl?" Harry asks. "Because you're good at those pep talks." Everyone in the car laughs and I let out a soft, sad chuckle.

"We made him laugh!" Liam yells.

"Of all people, it was Harry? Usually he has the worst jokes ever." I add in, not a lot of enthusiasm in my voice, my head in a dark place.

The rest of them start laughing and I look out the window. Eventually the guys end up mucking around and throwing stuff around. Harry doesn't seemed bothered by it and I usually wouldn't be but I'm a little moody right now.

"Guys, stop it." I say and no one argues because they know that I'm not too happy right now.

"Louis? I think Zayn was right, you should probably text her just in case." Liam says and I nod, taking out my phone.

I put in my thumbprint and click the name that's seeming to make me so anxious.

Louis: Amber? 

Louis: Please reply, I have something to ask you. 

Louis: I promise it will be quick

Amber: What now
