Chapter 15

I kicked image into a canter and we went back through the path we came from. She jumped over the jumps and cleared them all. We showed up in the stable grounds and Kate looked at me shocked.

"Where is the fire?"

I slowly slid off, being careful not to injure my knee again. "Ty is a fucking asshole. I fucking hate Cowboys."

I stormed off with image only to here Kate shout at me. "You fell in love with one remember."

I flicked her off and put Image into crossties. I untacked her and took her to the outside wash stall. I set the bucket with the sponge and soap down and tied her lead on the ring.

I sprayed her off first and then began to scrub her clean.

"Paige."

I turned to see Bing and nodded. "What are you doing here?"

He smiled and leaned against the wall of the stall. "There is this rodeo in 2 weeks. It's the championships. And since you have enough points from your wins last year, you can enter."

I went to Image's right side and began to scrub. "I don't know Bing."

He gave me a knowing look. "Get back on the horse Sam."

I rolled my eyes. "Enter me in then. It looks like Sam Woods is about to make an appearance."

He smirked. "That's the girl I know."

I splashed water at him and he ran away. I shook my head and rinsed Image off.

I towel dried her and unclipped her halter from the crossties. I walked her to her paddock and turned her loose. She bucked and ran over to her friend.

I went back to the stable and put the lead on her hook in the tack room.

I walked out the barn and saw Mike leaning against the hitching post on the phone. He looked at me, smiled, and held his finger up to let me know that he'll be a minute.

"Well I'm glad your doing good kid. Feel free to pay your favorite person a visit every now and then."

Mike hung up and gave me a small smile.

I shook my head. "How is he doing?"

He sighed. "He is making it. The kid is wasting a talent just to ride some damn Bulls. Such a shame."

I nodded. "That's his fault Mike. You didn't do anything wrong."

He raised an eyebrow. "Neither did you Paige. He's young and dumb. Let him make his mistakes first and then he'll come running back to you."

I smiled as Mike patted my shoulder and began walking up to the western barn.

Maybe things will go back to the way they were.

Maddie picked me up for school early the next morning. She was wearing black skinny jeans and a sheet white shirt. I was in ripped light wash capris and a grey tank top paired with a pink blazer.

We pulled up in our usual parking spot and got out. Like always everyone looked at us.

I went to my locker and shoved my books in only to see Ashton walking over toward me.

I slammed the door shut and crossed my arms over my chest. "What do you want Ashton?"

He smirked and leaned against the locker beside mine. "I see you got rid of that cowboy."

I rolled my eyes. "Something like that."

He grabbed my hand and I glared. "So now you can focus on me. "

I laughed. "That's the funniest shit ever. Sorry but i don't go for jocks. But if you want a whore I'm sure I can give you a few numbers."

I jerked my hand out of his and saw that everyone was looking at us. "Get a life you idiots!"

I walked over to Maddie who was almost rolling on the floor from laughing.

She slung her arm over my shoulder and we began walking to class. "Keep you attitude Paige. It's what makes you, well you."

I laughed. "What would I do without you Mads?"

Seriously what would I do without her?
