Chapter Twenty-two

"Sure," I shrugged. Its not like I have plans or anything.

She grinned at me before clapping her hands together, "Great! We can go shopping together. We need to get you something sexy that will definitely have Parker needing a cold shower." I felt my cheeks heat up at her words but nodded anyways, mirroring her grin.

The sound of the front door opening caused the smile on my face to disappear. I felt my throat become dry and my stomach clench. Peyton glanced at me warily as we heard the footsteps come closer to the living room. Parker appeared around the corner and he stopped when he noticed us in here. His eyes met mine and he held them a few seconds before glancing at Peyton but came back to mine. I scoffed at him, looking away.

"Hey, brother," she greeted him as she turned back to the TV.

"What are you doing here, Peyton?" He asked with a frown on his face while he narrowed his eyes at his sister suspiciously. I couldn't help but noticed he was wearing loose jeans that hung loosely on his hips while wearing a black T-shirt that clung tightly to his body. His black hair was messy on his head, which was tempting to run my fingers through. Shit, I'm checking him out.

"What? I can't see my brother's dear mate?" She asked while shooting him a glare. Parker looked at me again and I quickly looked away hoping he didn't see me checking him out.

He didn't say anything but turn on his heel and leave. Peyton called out to him, "Yeah, you better walk away!" I laughed silently at her. Where has she been all this time I've been alone?

We continued watching TV as it continued to become later at night.

"You should ask Parker to come with us to the party," Peyton suggested. I glanced at her before looking back at the TV.

"Why?"

"Maybe you'll get to know Parker better. You never know? Maybe tease him a little and show him what he's missing," she responded nonchalantly. I pondered that idea. I guess it would be fun to tease him, but that means I'd have to be around him. I scowled at that.

My wolf spoke for me instead, "Ok."

'What the hell?!' I growled at Irene.

'I think we should spend more time with our mate,' she replied. I internally groaned at her. There is no way I'm getting out of this. I'm just going to wait till the last minute to tell him so then he would say no because its too late. I smirked at the idea.

Peyton and I continued watching TV until it was midnight. She decided that she would sleep on the couch and I went back to my room. The hallway upstairs was pitch black and I knew that Parker was probably asleep.

When I opened my door, I noticed that my bedside lamp was on and dimmed. That is not what caught my eye, what caught my eye was the beautiful red rose laying on my pillow. This was the third one I have gotten. My brows furrowed as I walked over to it. I picked it up, careful not to touch the thorns, and carried it to the other two. I couldn't help the small smile that graced my lips. Obviously it was Parker's doing, but why?

I changed into another pair of shorts and a tank top before brushing my teeth. I then climbed back into my bed glancing at the roses before turning my light off and laid on my side. Before I slipped off into sleep, I heard the sound of my door creaking open. I felt my bed dip behind me and I couldn't really tell as I was too tired to think clearly. I felt a presence behind me and arms snake around my body pulling me towards a warmer and bigger body. I felt the sparks and I couldn't help but feel safer. I was overwhelmed by Parker's strong addicting scent as he kept me close to his body as if afraid I would disappear. I was too weak at this point to get mad and struggle against him but a part of me wouldn't let me as well. I felt him move my hair away from my neck and nuzzle his nose into it, inhaling my scent before whispering.
