Me?
"Right then, who's ready for a little walk along the beach?" asks Will, thankfully putting an end to that awkward encounter by climbing to his feet.
Kyle instantly joins him, locking his amused gaze onto Aidan but chooses not to say anything regarding our closeness, although clearly struggles with doing so. It's unlike him to shy away from saying exactly what he's thinking, yet as he lovingly takes Hayley by the hand and walks in the direction of the beach, he does exactly that.
"I'll pack away the stuff, you guys go on ahead." offers Jess' Mum, winking at Jane afterwards.
I may be way off here but I sense some ongoings between the Richards family and grow increasingly excited when Will whispers a far-from-subtle, "Ready?" to Jane, spurring her on in the form of undeniable excitement. Instead of drawing attention to it, I simply go to stand and almost spontaneously combust when Aidan follows suit, interlocking his fingers with my own, as if doing so is the most natural thing in the world. He doesn't say anything afterwards and simply continues to walk with me, hand-in-hand, accompanied by what can only be described as the biggest smile slapped across his face.
"Anyone for ice cream?" asks Jess, immediately exciting April, who jumps up and down on the spot, demanding a strawberry cone.
The rest of us decline her offer, having stuffed ourselves with sausage rolls and mini quiches, though offer to walk with her towards the ice team truck as to satisfy April's sugar craving.
"Wow, look at that." points Aidan, enthusiastically gesturing towards a rather expensive looking motorbike parked up by the waterfall café.
It's structure is painted jet black with a gloss finish, seemingly shining under the sun's natural rays, yet an undercurrent of matt red offers the overall design a rather sexy look, intriguing in its own right. I'm not particularly interested in various vehicles as a whole but even I know a beauty when I see one and knowing Aidan as well as I do, I can only imagine he's in love right now.
"That's a two stroke engine." inputs Kyle, losing me as he continues to talk in specific terminology.
Both boys continue to mindlessly swoon over the inanimate object and although I attempt to remove myself from the situation, it would seem Aidan is having none of it. He claps down even harder on my hand, leaving no room for questioning in regards to where I belong in this exact moment.
Right by his side, apparently.
"Should we tell him?" asks Will, rather randomly speaking aloud, though aiming his enquiry at Jane.
"Tell me what?" replies Aidan, noticeably adding pressure to our linked exchange.
Kyle begins to quietly chuckle from beside us, joined soon after by Hayley who is struggling to keep her feelings at bay if her ever reddening cheeks and unladylike snorts are anything to go by. Without saying anything, Will smoothly and elegantly throws what appears to be a set of keys in Aidan's direction; finally stemming him to break all contact from me as he catches them.
"No fucking way!" he delights, staring down at his hands in total disbelief.
"Language! Your sister is listening." scorns Jane, though only does so half heartedly.
