~Chapter thirty two~

Start from the beginning

"Umm- I need to head home soon, so I came to give you your present." I explain, growing nervous under his scrutinising stare. "It's nothing special. Just a little joke." I add, feeling the need to elaborate.

"I bet I'll love it," he replies, taking the wrapped object from my hands and fingering the light blue bow attached. "Cute." he smiles, slowly lifting his gaze to meet mine before lowering them again as to open his gift.

He does so rather carefully at first but soon loses patience when the excitement becomes too much and all but rips it open. Before I know it, he's uncovered my great thinking and staring back at him are two bottles of beer and a grey T-shirt, much like the one he wore that first night we met.

"I owe you, remember?" I smile, noticing his appreciation almost instantly.

His eyes grow wide with adoration and become bottomless pits of emotion as they blare into mine, silently conveying his utmost gratitude.

"You're so fucking amazing, Amelia," he whispers, barely keeping it together. "Thank you, thank you, thank you." he chants, feverishly littering my forehead with wet kisses, each one as intoxicating as the last. "Thank you for coming into my life." he concludes, before finally doing what we both undoubtedly want by moulding his soft lips to my own.

Im a little shocked at first and his immediate step back confirms he's feeling somewhat similar.

"Shit, I got carried away." he laughs, rubbing the pad of this thumb along his lower lip.

The action proves rather erotic and needing a quick distraction, I pull further away from his rock hard body and notice for the first time what he was trying to hide from me when I first came in.

"Are you trying to sneak more cake?" I smile, pulling on his arm as to position him in front of the delicious looking Victoria Sponge.

"Not exactly," he coyly replies, running a nervous hand through his wavy locks. "Chloe overheard you talking to my Mom. I know it's her birthday today too, darling." he adds, quite frankly shocking me.

I've not the slightest clue what to say but feeling rather overwhelmed, I respond by throwing myself into his welcoming arms, melting into his warmth almost instantly. A stinging sensation soon makes itself known around my eye area and just as I'm pulled away, small tears escape, unwillingly so.

"Don't cry, beautiful girl," he whispers, wiping at the moist liquid. "I understand why you never told me but I didn't want to pretend I knew nothing of it," he continues, trying his best to explain. "I wanted to do something nice for you. To remember her by. Something only you and I know about. No audience, no big scene. Just us." he finalises, shutting up when I pull on his collar as to bring his head closer to mine.

"No words." I tell him, needing to say nothing else before he knowingly brings his mouth down to meet my own, smothering it greatly.

The fact he's chosen to take a moment out of his special day to remember a woman he's never even met is something I'll never forget, nor do I ever want to. He's the most amazing thing in my life right now and although barely scraping the surface, I use our kiss to convey that, needing him to know just how much he means to me.

"I wish you could've met her." I whisper, thrusting my head into the crook of his neck and subjecting his sensitive skin to more kisses.
