"Today's June 11, right?" She assured. Mabel nodded blankly and looked at you.
Your skin was pale, your heartbeat was slowly beating, although it's broken now. It was like your resting. Peacefully.

Everyday, you're always in the hospital with your health but Mabel's always visiting you, she apologized for everything she did and you forgave her immediately. She's your best friend after all.

♡Meanwhile...

"Hey, babe?" (Tbh i don't rly lyk 2 be called 'babe' or 'baby' ew)

Dipper called, holding the guest list.

"Yeah?"

"Can you tell me who are the guests again?"

"Oh," Pacifica tried to remember, "Um... the Wattersons ;), the Diaz's ;), and L/---"

"Hey, where's Mabel? I thought she's going to help us. She's been planning this the whole summer." Dipper cut her off before Pacifica mentioned your last name.

"I dunno. Want me to continue, hon?"

"No. Thanks." Dipper smiled.

Cringe.

June 16, 2025 / 4:30 pm.

"Hey, Y/N!" Mabel greeted you with an enthusiastic smile. You grinned back.

"Mabel!" You hugged her shortly. "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be helping with the wedding...?" You muttered slowly, your happiness fading one by one.

Mabel frowned, "Naaah... it's okay. Dipper can handle that on his own."

"Oh... okay."

"What about you? Are you okay, N/N?"

"I'm-I'm okay." You assured.

Minutes of playing and watching videos together, you enjoyed Mabel's company for a while. It's comforting, friendly, and happiness was around it. You missed this things.

6:30 pm.

"So, when we're 14, Dippy slipped on the floor after he showered!" Mabel told you, you laughed and so did she.

"Wh-why?" You still laughed.

"I... Haha! I smothered butter o-on the floor!"

You both laughed your hearts out, until you calmed down. "You're so bad, Mabel..."

"That's me!"

"So... mind telling me about your brother's fiancee?" You said.

"Oh, well, for sure... Dipper's head over heels over Pacifica when we're in Gravity Falls. Dipper just helped her on her mansion problem and then--- poof! They're in love."

You looked down. You regretted asking Mabel how their love story was, and it made your heart aching more. It was beating rapidly, but not the loving one. The panicking, anxious one.

As Mabel talked and talked, she didn't noticed that your running out of breathe and your body'd about to turn off.

"...and--- oh no! Y/N!" Mabel quickly stood by your side and held your arms to keep you in place. You kept on breathing quickly and your body's gonna be out from exhaustion soon so Mabel did not wasted time.

She ran for the nurses and called them loudly. "NURSE! HELP IT'S MY FRIEND!"

The nurses reacted quickly and ran to your room. They pushed Mabel out and went to destabalize your breathing. Mabel saw it all on the window and looked at your condition.

All these years... Y/N's alone by herself. With no one to take care of her but only herself. I feel bad... I was not a good friend to her. Instead, I supported Dipper with his girlfriend in Gravity Falls.

Finally, the doctors took care of it, and you're back to normal, apparently. You were unconscious, but your breathing's still ragged.

Doctor Medicine talked to Mabel.

"...what?!" She exclaimed. "She only got... huh?"

"Yes, Ms. Pines. Y/N here, only have a day left and her heart will stop beating 'caused by heart attacks that she experienced these days..." He informed her.

"B-but..." Mabel stuttered, she canlt believe that her friend's going to die tomorrow, the day before his brother's wedding. "How about my brother's... wedding?"

"Then I'm afraid she won't be there, Ms. Mabel."

She nodded, signalling him that she understands the message. Doctor Medicine walked out of the room, leaving a frowning Mabel and an unconscious body that was about to die tomorrow there.

Mabel approached your bed. "Y-Y/N?" She shakily said.

"I-I'm sorry for everything... f-for not being by your side when you're s-still healthy. S-sorry for leaving you alone, I'm sorry that I lost you few years ago," she went quiet. The room was quiet. Only the sound of an air-conditioner. 

"But I don't wanna lose you NOW!"

Mabel broke down and cried. You were still sleeping...

Maybe you're dead now.

But, Mabel shook that thought. You're strong, you can do this.

She decided to go home and waited for the news if you're awake by now. She was home by 8:00 pm with a sad frown and she clutched on the strap of her shoulder bag tightly and refrained her eyes from crying. No, Mabel. Don't let them know you're crying.

Mabel opened the door to see the whole family on the dining table. She was quiet which makes her family wonder.

"Mabel, sweetie, are you alright? You seemed quiet these past days." Mom

"And I haven't seen you here often." Dad.

"Yeah, and you're not helping me with my special day..." Dipper.

Mabel sighed and placed her bag down. She puts up a fake smile and she thought that they bought it. "I-it's nothing... just going on friends' houses."

Her cheerful eyes pleaded.

They carried on with their dinner and Dipper excused himself, since his girlfriend called.

Mabel excused herself also, and trudgedly walked upstairs. She laid on her bed, turned her back and faced the wall.

She cried herself silently to sleep.

✖June 17, 2025/the day before the wedding

Kriiiiing Kriiiinnng Krriiiiiiiiing

Someone called Mabel's phone. She woked up after the 3rd ring and picked it up.

"Hello...?"

"Goodmorning, Ms. Pines." The doctor said. Mabel glanced at her cat-themed clock. 8:45 am.

"Uh... Good morning. What is it, Doctor Medicine?"

"It's Y/N."
