The un-expecting Meal - Chapter 21

" Stay back!" Nami said, she readied her self in a stance opening a pouch she always carried at least one whenever she went.  The person only came closer looking to be catching their breath having no time for words as he panting.
Nami felt threatened as he was almost a few feet away and she bended water  in a ball at him, enough to make him fall and give nami enough time to turn and run off.  who was he? Nami had no change to see his face but by his figure he looked in his 30s to 40s.

By morning Nami had at least got some sleep, she kept thinking about that man who saw her last night what was he going to do, Leea was in the kitchen as Nami came in.  She saw Leea preparing some tea and a breakfast, Nami smiled and gave her a hand before sitting and eating with her " Leea, are their people in this town that skulk around at night?"

Leea choked on her tea before looking at nami very surprised knowing she must have been out at night on her own " well i am not sure, why do you ask?  did something happen" Leea watched Nami stair at her tea worried for her

Nami sighed looking up at her " yes, i couldn't sleep, so i went out dressed in my own clothing and someone stared at me, they came so close i got scared and attacked throwing them back with my bending and i  run " Nami sipped her tea sighing a little thinking maybe it would come to cause her trouble as she was a water bender in a fire nation town

The rest of the day went by quickly as Nami helped Leea do deliverers, knowing that it would take most of the day as she was told her co-worker would work in the shop to help and dinner would be done for when she returned.
Nami made each delivery as soon as she could and as fast as she could, she wanted dinner to come soon so she could get to talking about what the co-worker knew about any of Rei's old workers she had, but what scared her the most was what if they knew nothing and coming here was a waste of time?
Nami made it back sighing as she stretched walking the steps slowly stopping at Leea's door listening in, on the conversation she could hear.

" I'm sorry hon, i saw someone water bending clothing.  i thought that my mind was playing tricks on me and i couldn't say anything.  i thought" the males voice came as she couldn't hear anyone else but a woman, not Leea's maybe she was not in the room

" Its ok dear.  " the woman said trying to comfort him.  Nami was happy she was in her fire nation outfit for now as she came in not making eye contact with the couple that sat at the table as Nami could feel their eyes staring at her.

Nami sat on the couch as she took off her boots and sat them neatly with the others, she glared at the couple staring at her as they only watched her.  Nami didn't like being stared at as she stood looking at them, and one moment at the kitchen where food was being cooking away then back to the couple

" you got a problem?!?  It isn't polite to stare" Nami said as she waited for their responce as the couple looked at one another speaking in whispers as the woman sighed

" I'm sorry,  we did not know what to expect when Leea told us about you, a child on a mission to find someone at your age" Nami sighed and Leea came in with spices from the store, Leea could see the tension that both the couple and Nami had towards each other.

"sorry it took so long," Leea was up at the kitchen and the woman went to help her, Nami only sat at the table watching Leea and the woman then looked to the man, something about them felt weird and Nami couldn't put her finger on it.

When dinner was served, Nami picked at it not likeing these peaople presence it made her feel on edge not sure if they where friends or foes.  when the woman looked at her Nami felt she was being judged, by this woman, but her husband seemed more sad and thinking to him self like something was missing in his life.

" well, this is Nami, she came here on her own to find out about people that Rei knew, since you knew rei more than i maybe you had more information" Leea asked the woman as she snapped from her stare to look at Leea nodding
