The demon set down his cup. "I...don't want to be evil. I don't want to be someone who kills just because it's entertaining, or because I'm bored, or following orders. Granted, I don't want to be someone who takes orders from a princess, either, but it can't be as bad as following orders to kill people I don't know and ruin a kingdom for fun."

Link nodded. "Okay, that I get. It's stupid to kill without a decent reason, or for some ridiculous reason like 'because my boss told me to'."

"You know what I just realized, Skychild?"

"What?"

"For sworn enemies, we seem to have a lot in common."

"Okay, I'm heading over," Midna announced upon finding them both sitting in the living room. While Link appeared to be meditating, Ghirahim was simply observing with his eyes shut. He opened his eyes, drawing back to his current location and nodding towards her.

"When you come back, could you tell us whether you remembered what happened here or not?"

The redhead gave a nod and started towards the proper room. Just before she stepped in, Link spoke up.

"Be careful."

"I will. Don't worry."

With that, she disappeared, leaving the room strangely empty. Ghirahim gave a tiny huff of laughter. "Did I detect worry in your voice, Skychild?"

"Don't be ridiculous. As far as I'm concerned, I just met her. I don't care that much about her well being."

Link had hardly finished the sentence when Midna reappeared suddenly, staggering and bleeding heavily.

"Ganondorf has seized control of Hyrule's side," she gasped.

At that point, it was clear that Link had lied. He jolted to his feet and offered his body to support the Twili. Ghirahim rose from the couch and summoned a few towels to lay over it as the blond gingerly set her down, worry glittering in his eyes.

"He's the other army's leader, right?" the demon lord asked, and Link nodded. He pushed Midna's hair back and started to tend to her wound, insisting Ghirahim stand guard over the portal. The sorcerer shut the door and barricaded the entire room with both white and black magic. No entity would get through without his permission.

Midna started to say something, unintelligible words gurgling from her throat. Link almost hushed her, but looked towards the taller male.

"She's asking for you."

Ghirahim kept one hand up as he continued to add energy to his barrier, but stepped towards the redhead, who coughed violently and reached for his other hand. When he took it, her voice rang out in his mind smoothly.

"Ganondorf is not aware of how to travel between worlds yet. He is also unaware that you are working with Link as his ally. And, yes, I remembered everything from here when I got there. Travel to the other world. Zant has a potion handy, I'm sure. Pretend you're still on their side. I'm trusting you." She paused for a moment, then sent a mental image of him in an entirely different outfit. "Change into this first, if you can. It's your usual outfit."

He nodded, releasing her hand and rising to his feet, although he wasn't sure who 'Zant' was. "I'm going to Hyrule. I'll be back as soon as possible. In the meantime - " His eyes flashed blue as he changed into his Hyrulean garb. " - I have an army to demolish."

Instead of the tight grey shirt and black pants he had been wearing, he had changed into a sleeveless white T-shirt with a large, diamond-shaped cut over his chest and half of one at the very bottom on both sides, suggestively revealing the lower half of his abs and back before being overlapped by a fancy golden sash. His pants were the same shade of white, with smaller diamond-shaped cutouts over the front and back of both legs, and similar white gloves adorned his hands up to the elbows.
