"I do not, Mrs. Fieldstein." The door opened, and everyone's attention diverted to that. It was Robin.

"Sorry I'm late, I-"

"It's fine, find an open seat." The only spot was next to me, she came to sit next to me. "Okay everyone's got a partner now."

She sounded like she was out of breath, "Did you run here?"

"haha, pretty much."

"You'll get used to it all trust me." She chuckled a little. The teacher told us our assignments, and at first, I thought it was going to be dreadful. But Robin made it fun. The bell finally rang, "Yess finally."

"Looks like somebody's excited to get out of here." I gave Robin a confused look.

"Aren't you?" She hesitated a little.

"I guess." Hm, maybe she like's school. We walked out of the classroom, the halls filled with teenagers. I looked around for Chris, so he could walk me to my train. "Looking for someone?"

"Yeah, my best friend guess he already left."

"Oh sorry, that sucks." Some random guy handed me a flyer and said,

"Don't forget."

Robin gave me a confused look, "Do you know that guy?"

"Nope." I read the flyer, it was about that senior party thing. "Oh, this again." I handed Robin the piece of paper.

She looked it over, "Sounds like fun."

"Ha, yeah if you're okay with being surrounded by drunk sweaty highschoolers."

"Are you going?"

"I told my best friend I would, but I don't know. What about you?"

"..Parties not my thing, haha." We ended up outside, "It was nice meeting you, I should probably get going mom's waiting for me." She points to a black SUV, guess that's her mom.

"Yeah you too, see ya."

I walked alone to the train, and just as I was about to take a seat I get a text. It's from Chris.

Chris: 2:43pm

Hey sorry, I was absentee all today. I replied with.

Me: 2:45pm

It's fine. He texted back and said

Chris: 2:48pm

Are you still coming to the party later? A part of me wanted to say no, but I told him I would come. So I just said.

Me: 2:52pm

Yeah.

The train finally arrived at my stop, I walked at a fast pace rest of the way home. It was chilly out and really wasn't in the mood to be stopped by weirdos. Living in New York, I've learned you gotta be aware of your surroundings. Finally home at last, "Mom!, I'm home." There's nothing like coming home and smelling homemade chili.

"In the kitchen sweetie." I walked in the kitchen, ready to eat. "Hey, how was your first day back?" I went to open the pot to sneak a taste, my mom swatted my hand away. "Nope, go get cleaned up first."

"haha, cmon"

"Uh-uh, and you didn't answer my question."

"It was fine." I forgot that I had to attend a party, and I don't wanna lie to her about it. So here goes nothing. "Oh and mom, ireallyneedtogotothispartypleasecanigo?" She turned to look at me, maybe she didn't hear me.

"Wait, rewind that, you wanna go to a party? On a school night. Yeah, I don't think so." Nope, she heard me just fine.

"Well, I tried." She looked at me confused, "What?"

"..No, fight on this one?"

"You said no, and your my mom and I respect your decison." She just shrugged it off, "What time does dad get home, I might need some help on my economics homework."

"It's 3:10pm he should be here, in about an hour."

"K, call me when dinner's ready." I walked up stair's to my bedroom, and just plopped down on my bed. Just exhausted from the day, and it's only the first day. "Ughhh." I just remembered that I have to text Chris and tell him I can't make it.

Me: 3:13pm

I'm so sorry, my mom wasn't having it going out on a school night. Ten minutes later.

Chris: 3:23pm

Oh, well maybe next time. Yeah maybe.

I got homework, so I'm going to get that out of the way first.
