"Bye."
"Bye." At least I know that she cares. See there I go again, thinking about her in that way. I went back to looking for a job. Another hour goes by and still nothing. I decided to just go home. When I exited the train, I noticed the three guys that were trying to flirt me, also got off. Living in New York, you can never be too careful. I walked a little faster. "I think I lost them." I turned the corner to get to my street. And saw the three of them. How?
"Listen, guys, I just wanna get home." One of the guys tried to grab my bag but I pulled back and held it tight.
"Don't we all, little lady." Did he? Oh hell no. I was about to say something, then one of them pulled out something shiny.
"I really don't want, any trouble tonight." One of them lunged at me, but then out of nowhere. Someone came literally, falling from the sky. It was a girl, and she was dressed in all black. And she wore a mask, so I couldn't see her face. She turned to me and said.
"RUN!"
Didn't have to tell me twice, I ran like there was no tomorrow. I finally made it back to my house, out of breath. "Hey, honey your finally back." My mom said walking out of the living room. "And, you're out of breath? Why?" I don't wanna lie to her but If I, told her the truth I'll never be able to get a job.
"Wild. Out. There."
"Wild how? Like stray dog's on the loose again?."
"Yeah, something like that." I guess that isn't a complete lie.
"Oh, well okay, go get cleaned up for dinner." At dinner, I was thinking about the person who saved me. The voice sounded so, familiar, hmm I don't know, maybe it was nothing. I finished up dinner and headed to bed.
It's finally Friday, and I was at lunch waiting for Robin to join me. I noticed that everyone was on their phones, getting all riled up about something. "Hey, what took you so long?"
"Oh, um I was using the bathroom."
"Hey, are you alright?"
"Yeah, just a little sore. Had a sparring session yesterday. It was pretty, intense." Oh.
"Do you know what this ruckus is about today? A lot of people are saying things like 'She's back'. Like, what does that even mean?" I could see that Robin, wasn't even paying attention. "Are you sure, your alright?"
"..I don't know, beats me. You know kids and social media nowadays." Some kids walked by and I heard one of them say,
"Bro, I hope she's back for good." I stopped them.
"Excuse me, um who are you guys talking about?"
"It's all over social media, check your twitter." He just walked away. And for his information, I don't have a twitter. I just ignored it all, probably another trend.
Robin offered to drive me home since she, had her mom's car today. Which I probably needed, because of everything that happened last night. "Would your parents mind if I, came in to use the bathroom?"
"No, not at all." I unlocked the door and saw bags of luggage on the floor. "Hey, I'm home." My dad came down the stairs. "Whats going on dad?"
"Your mother and I have to head down to Florida?"
"How come?"
"Funeral." I looked at my dad with concern, "Oh, no it's a distant relative. Your grandmother wanted us to attend." My mom then came down the stairs.
