"You save everyone!?" I kept pushing her "And not my mom!?" She didn't push back, "Why?!" I began to feel tears in my eyes. I nearly clasped on the ground but she caught be and held me in her arms. "Why my mom?!..why?" I just cried into her and I don't know why I'm so comfortable with a stranger in my house. I looked up at her, "Sorry." She stared at me with her almondy brown eyes.
"There's nothing to be sorry about." I smiled at her a little, she helped me up off the ground. "Everything's going to be okay, I promise." I couldn't help but stare at her, "What?"
"...Nothing, it's just..you remind me of someone. She's pretty great." I went on over to go sit on my bed, "That reminds me, I should call her."
"Call who?"
"Robin, she-"
"Wait! I mean, you look tired maybe you should get some rest. And talk to her tomorrow in the morning." I looked at her confused but then realized she was right.
"Yeah, your probably right." My clothes were a little damp from the rain, "I'll be right back." She nodded. I came back in fresh warm clothes. "I know you probably have important things to do, but I really don't wanna be alone tonight."
"You want me to stay?"
"Just until I..fall asleep."
"Yeah, sure." I went to go lay down and she took a seat in my chair near my bed. She grabbed my hand. "You're important too." I don't know why but that really made my happy. Hmm. I drifted off to sleep hoping for a better day.
I woke up and didn't feel anything holding my hand anymore. "I guess she left." It was 7 in the morning and I realized I was late for school. I rushed downstairs to see my dad not gone, "Dad..I'm sorry I overslept." He wasn't even dressed for work. He was laying on the couch, "..Dad? Hey, you alright?" That was a stupid question, of course, he isn't. "Sorry, I asked."
"You hungry?" I was getting up from the couch, "I could-"
"No dad..um I'll grab something to eat at school." He went upstairs and I went to go get ready for school. Even though I really didn't wanna do, anything today. As I'm getting ready all I can think about is. I'll never get to tell her I love her, again before I leave. "I can't do this." I plopped down on my bed with my face in my hands. "I just can't..do this" My phone rang, it was Robin. I forgot to call her, I picked it up. "Hi."
"Hey, Elle I just found out I'm so sorry." I was about to cry again, "Elle?"
"...Yeah, I'm here."
"Want me to pick you up? I can take my mom's car."
"If you don't mind."
"No, not at all, I'll be there in 10 minutes."
"K, bye."
"Bye."
Robin pulled up, "Hey." I clicked my seatbelt in. The car wasn't moving, I looked over at Robin to see that she was staring at me. "You look sad, what's wrong?"
"Are you sure you wanna go to school?" I looked into her firm green eyes and saw that they were filling up with tears. A tear fell down her face, I wiped it away.
"Hey, I'm okay, don't worry...But to be honest no, I really don't." She nodded and started the car up.
"Okay, I know exactly where to go."
She brought us to a view up so high that you can see the whole city. It's an incredible view, "Very beautiful." We got out of the car. "Why here?"
"I come here from time to time, to clear my head." We leaned up against the front of the car and just enjoyed the view. The wind was blowing a little, I rested my head on Robin's shoulder. She rested her head on my head. "You know if you need anything, all you gotta do is ask. I'll always be here for you. Always." I leaned my head up and our faces were nearly touching. Okay, just breath.
"..Yeah, I know."
We ended up at my house and I explained to my dad why I didn't wanna to go to school. He wasn't mad, to be honest, he didn't really have much of a reaction. Robin and I were just laying on my bedroom floor with blankets watching Netflix. It's been a normal day, the funerals Friday. Not something you ever prepare for. I just can't believe she's really gone. "Elle? You awake..."
"...Hm, what's wrong?"
"Oh no nothing's wrong...it's just that you're still moving next week." That totally slipped my mind. I just don't wanna pick up and leave, especially after everything. I looked over at her and grabbed her hand.
"I'm not going anywhere, don't worry." I was feeling too tired to get up, so just decided to fall asleep where I was.
A/N: Rest in Peace Mrs.Riverson. The emotion in this chapter run high, who knows what's next. Not gonna lie this chapter broke my heart a little. But in the end, Michelle is a strong girl. Good thing for having a great friend like Robin in her life. Any feedback is good feedback. Thanks For Reading.
