“Let’s talk this over at the café?” he sighed wearily.

“Who forgot the name now?” I smirked. Jayden rolled his eyes at us, before grabbing my bag.

“Hey!” I yelled, as he rummaged around in it. “What’re you doing?”

“There they are” he muttered as he put his arm in and retrieved my… emergency tampons? What the fuck?!

“Jayden!” I screamed, trying to grab my bag back as my face flushed scarlet. Cole, the ass, was laughing like a hyena. Jayden turned just as scarlet as me, if possible even redder.

“Sorry” he exclaimed, looking at me wide eyed, releasing his hold on the bag immediately. I gratefully took possession of it, and tucked it under my arm.

“What the hell?!” I narrowed my eyes at him.

“I’m sorry!” he blurted out, holding his hands up defensively. Cole was still laughing, and was bent over, his hands on his knees as he guffawed. I calmly walked over to where he was. He hadn’t seen me. I took my bag in my left hand as I smacked his head with the right.

“Ow!” he yelled out, as he stood up to his full height of 5’10 and mock glared at me. “What was that for?” he whined, rubbing behind his head.

“For being an ass” I shrugged, as I walked back over to an awkward looking Jayden.

“I can’t help that. You know I can’t help that” he mock accused me. I giggled softly, as I shuffled my feet. Jayden’s face was tomato red and he refused to look at me. I looked inside my bag and took out my keys. I tossed them to Cole, who was pouting like a whiny little baby.

“Oh get over it” I snapped at him. “Go on, we’ll follow” I ordered him. He saluted me.

“Yes ma’am” And stalked over to my baby. One second he was sad, the next he was happy; is he bipolar or something? He unlocked it from the key, and got in. He gave me one last wink and a thumbs-up. I waved back at him, urging him to leave, and when he did, I turned back to Jayden. He still wasn’t looking at me, and had found a sudden interest in the street. I sighed.

“Hey, let’s go” I murmured, walking towards his car. He followed me, and walked over to the driver’s side. I slid into the passenger’s side and strapped my seatbelt in, as I waited for him to put on his. He looked a bit surprised but smiled and put on his too.

He started the car and followed after Cole. I sat, fidgeting in my seat for a minute as an awkward silence formed between us. This was new.

“So…” I started, dragging out the ‘o’ bit.

“So” he repeated, glancing at me once.

“Keep your eyes on the road Jayden” I mocked him with a sly grin. He chuckled, as my grin grew wider. I guess the awkwardness is over.

“Huh, guess I deserve that one” he said.

“Yes, you do” I agreed. “What were you looking for in my bag anyway?” I curiously asked.

“Your keys” he admitted sheepishly.

“Aaah” I said, drawling the ‘a’ part a lot as I reached over and turned up the radio.
