So I redirected the conversation as I grabbed some chips and stuff.
"How's the residency going, Miss Genius?"
"I'm working alongside a Dr. Bayleigh Hale...."
"Bayleigh became a doctor? That is great. I always thought she'd go into law like her family. But I'm really so proud of her."
"She misses you, Stasi. I told her you were coming in but I didn't tell her when. Are you okay with her knowing?", The little sister who could never keep her mouth shut but always asks if it was okay to tell after she has already told never gets old. "Plus, I already told Bayleigh, Greg, and David... Well, technically Bayleigh told David."
I paid for my stuff and thanked the clerk as I exited the store. With a deep sigh, I rushed my sister off the phone with a hasty goodbye and clicked the End call button.
The sound of a rumbling motorcycle in the distance took me back as I got into my car.
"How about that ride, Stasi?", Jax Teller had the most charming smile even if it were crooked and imperfect. He handed me his helmet as I stood there with my arms crossed holding onto the books that I had for school. "You gonna leave me hanging?"
I shook my head and handed my books over to Bayleigh whose jaw had dropped down as soon as she saw that THE Jackson Teller was talking to me.
As I put on the helmet, I could hear loud noises and talking. People were doing their usual hating. Ima, Lyla, and the other freaks were giving me heated glares. I ignored them as I got on the back of Jax's Harley and held him tightly.
