Klay and Dray offered me a hand and helped me up.
"No, you didn't," I defended, bitterly. I would never get crossed by a younger player. For point guards, it's almost equivalent to being dunked on.
I took the ball and dribbled it. Under my legs, behind the back. You name it. It was a dribble show.
D'Angelo switched on Klay, so now Devin was defending me. I pulled up from downtown and jesus fúcking hell, the ball still didn't get in.
"Yo!" I groaned to myself.
D'Angelo fought with Dray for the rebound.
And then Dray accidentally kicked his nuts.
I laughed as D'Angelo fell to the ground, clutching his balls in agony. I knew that nigga was in pain, but why was it funny to me?
"Hey, your díck still intact?" Ben asked as he pulled a whimpering D'Angelo up.
"How does it look like?" he questioned in sarcasm.
Dray patted his back. "Man, sorry."
"Nah," D'Angelo said. "You kicked my balls back to the 6. I don't fúck with you no more."
The guys started laughing and then Devin was trying to tell D'Angelo to just stretch his legs out.
"Water break, boys," Klay announced and I immediately walked towards the bench to grab my towel.
Klay grabbed a bottle to quench his thirst while he sat down, taking his phone out.
"Who you taking to prom?" he suddenly asked.
I wish. "I don't know," I answered.
He turned to me, knowingly. "Not even Arzay—"
"Klay, come on man." I shook my head, trying to just laugh it off. "You know how that will end up."
Because as much as I'd like to pick her up in her beautiful dress, it was impossible that she'd even agree to be my date. It makes it frustrating because I don't really have something to look forward to prom night, except spend my last few memories as a Senior.
"If you go solo, I'ma go solo," Dray bargained, joining us.
I grinned. Real friends always got your back, folks. "Aye. I appreciate it, man. Deal."
"Seriously?" Klay asked.
"Klay, my man," I spoke. "I realized I'm a lone superstar, so I'm officially going solo like Zayn."
D'Angelo (whose balls seemed much better) and the other two boys then joined once hearing the conversation.
"When's prom for you guys?" Ben asked before chugging on his bottle.
"Two weeks," Klay told him, looking back at his phone. "Damn. Shay's mad at me because she has no one to shop her outfit with."
Devin looked at him, oddly. "What about the bff?"
"Arzaya upset as hell because we pulled a prank on her," Draymond answered casually. "But she smiled at me at the hallway yesterday so I guess there ain't no beef."
