Coming to a different world- Story of the [Grim Reaper]

Chapter 3+4

"Are you the one they call Toru?", he asked.

"Yeah, that's me".

"The king's advisor has asked me to tell you you can read every book in this library you want. He also urged me to warn you you can't take any of the books outside the library".

"Okay. Thank you", i answered.

When hearing i agreed with his terms, he nodded and went back to his desk.
Within seconds he was once again in the trance-like state he was in before i entered the library.

I started to walk around the bookcases.
None of the books had a title on its back, so i randomly took out a large, green book with lovely golden-coloured stitches.
I looked at the cover and to my amazement a full english message was looking at me.

"Basic Magic Spells - The Great Encyclopedia To The Many Wonders Of Magic",
it read.

So not only their spoken language but also their written language is english, i thought and excited, i walked to one of the desks in the middle of the librey, sat down and started to read.

An almost non-audible voice started to talk next to me.

"Mister Toru, i brought your lunch.
Would you like to eat it now?"

As i was completely absorbed by the book i was reading, i was really startled.
With a shock i took my eyes of the book and saw the beautiful maid who woke me up a couple of hours ago standing next to me, together with the same cart she pushed when she brought breakfast earlier today.

As her question only then started to be processed by my brains, my answer came quite late.

"Yes, thank you, i'll eat it here", i said.

"Okay, can i put it on your desk?"

Because she had a slightly worried look on her face, i looked at the desk.
Books.
The desk was almost invisible thanks to the enormous amount of books lying on it.
I suddenly remembered that in my enthousiasm i just kept taking books to my desk.

I started to take some books nearby and placed them on the floor.

"Yes, please do", i said," but let me clean up a bit first".

"Please sir, you shouldn't be the one to do that. Please allow me to do that",
she answered and she started to restake the books as well.
It took both of us about 5 minutes to clean up the mess.

When she had placed the food on the desk, she tried to walk away and turned away.

"Won't you stay here for a bit?", i asked.

"I'm truly sorry, sir Toru, but i'd better not do that. I still have other places to attend. I'm truly sorry".

"No, i'm sorry for asking you out of the blue. Then, can you at least tell me your name?"

When i asked for her name, she started to blush and looked at the books lying on the ground.

"Although the name of a maid is unworthy to be called by a hero, Mister Toru, i'll tell you.
My name is Sophia".

As she stated her name, she bowed her head.

"Well then, Sophia", i said with a faint smile on my face," it's a pleasure to meet you".

Sophia blushed even more when she heard her name and quickly took her cart.

"Then please excuse me", she said and she turned around and walked away at a really high pace.

Smiling at her strange behaviour, i once again took up a book and immersed myself in it's pages.

Then, Sophia came back.
