Question from rozanyg:
Q. Why did Andi absolutely need to go into the time trance?

The Time Trance is basically the most powerful state a Time Walker can enter. It's a last resort move. It's a move that a Walker should only take if they know they cannot win without it. Think of it like the Jean Grey/Phoenix scene in X-Men: Apocalypse when she unleashed all her power. The Time Trance is the releasing of all a Walker's power and it's extremely dangerous to get caught in the crossfire if you're no match.

So why did Andi absolutely need to go into the Time Trance? Because she knew she could not win against Eon. He's powerful, just as powerful as Andi herself. She was no match against him, even with the Time Stone. Even though they both entered the Time Trance, Andi had the upper hand with the Stone and the Lord and Lady. She may not have won if she hadn't went into it.

Question from rozanyg:
Q. What year (on Earth) did this all take place?

The Omega Chronos is not on Earth. It's a place in between dimensions and time. There's no exact location of it because it changes. It's also a place where time does not move, which is why the hourglass time stamp has '--' rather than the other books where it's set in 2012 or 2015.

But in response to your question, this takes place in 2016 on Earth since the first few chapters before they go to the Chronos is in 2016.

Question from BirdOfFlames:
Q. How did you get the idea of the Time Walkers?

I don't think it's any secret that there's a lot of similarities between this series and Doctor Who; a lot of you have pointed that out. Doctor Who was a huge influence on how Andi and the Time Walkers came about. The character and the group are pretty much Time Lords — Andi and the Doctor pretty much act the same, being one similarity; the golden sky in the Omega Chronos is the same as Gallifrey's; The Doctor versus the Master, Andi versus Eon; Lord of Time? Time Lord? The similarities are numerous. However, rather than killing them off, I decided to make the Time Walkers alive and well and many.

Additionally, I decided to make the Time Walkers real people rather than aliens from another planet. They're recruits. They're soldiers. Other Walkers travel time looking for people to bring into the fold, such as Eilian finding Andi after the Fall of Troy and the Lord recruiting Astra during the French Revolution. Rarely anyone is born into the Walkers; there are a few, but they're rare. Those born of course grow into adults, but at a certain age they stop and remain that age until death (not a natural one). This age varies for many. Some reach four years old and that's it. Some get to ninety.

Long story short, Time Lords were the inspiration of the Time Walkers.

Question from BirdOfFlames:
Q. What was your favourite part of writing this series?

Oh, god. You're asking me to pick one? There have been so many parts of this series so far that I've loved writing. I can't pinpoint just one, so I guess I'll list a few in no particular order.

I loved writing Act 1 of Out of Time. Beginning to develop that friendship between Andi and Steve was great fun. That's one of my favourite things about writing in general: establishing those relationships.

I loved writing all of When Time Collides. That is by far my favourite book in this series so far. I feel like it was the book that I wrote the best. Out of Time needs to have some fresh edits which I'll get around to it eventually. The Path of Time wasn't as good as I hoped it would be, but it's not overly bad. But When Time Collides is just perfect as it is and I'm thrilled with how it turned out. I found it hilarious that people were losing their minds when Andi and Steve had their first kiss during a battle scene. Everyone was like, "wrong time guys!" and "is this really the time?!" (no puns intended XD) The responses weren't what I thought it was going to be, but it was hilarious all the same. If you're curious, the main reason I did that was because of their connection. They connected during a war. They connect during battle. Their characters grew through war and battles. It seemed fitting and perfect to bring them together during one.
