As Percy remembered that, he smiled slightly, the deep sadness that usually filled his eyes momentarily disappeared.

But it soon returned as Percy remembered what had happened next.

There is a reason that this is chapter thirteen.

~°~(When you realize that the last chapter and this one was all a flashback. . . anyway, flashback continued!)

Percy and Nico woke up early the next morning.

The huntresses were moving to a different camping place that day. They went over the river and through the woods.

But as they walked into the clearing, planning to set up camp in it, they were attacked. There were more enemies than during either of the wars that Percy was in, more than there even were at the hideout. Most of the ones from the hideout had already reformed and had joined this army.

(A/N By the way, I'm just going to mention that Percy already realized the value of his life with some help by Nico. This information is here because I forgot to write it. Whoops. But yeah, Percy realized that he's fine with living now and he's okay-ish with being immortal.)

The monsters went down with arrows sticking out from their heads, chests, or limbs, but more took their place. It seemed never ending.

Slowly, the monsters started winning. Some huntresses went down, until there were only about a dozen left. Percy and Nico were the only ones who seemed to be making any progress.

With every hunter that went down, Percy got angrier. There was more power behind his attack while he still flawlessly defended himself, and his enemies realized just how strong an enemy Percy was. Before long, Percy and Nico would destroy them all.

But an evil demigod that once held a knife held that knife no more. It flew through the air, spinning, and hit it's target in the stomach.

Nico felt a huge pain in his stomach. He looked down to see blood; lots of it.

He stared at it in shock. Then, he collapsed to the ground and died.

(A/N I just laughed at the bluntness of my statement. I will laugh every time I read it. Ha.)

Percy felt that something was wrong. He turned around just in time to see Nico fall to the ground. He watched as Nico died quickly.

He never even got to say goodbye.

Percy stared at the dead body of his love in shock and horror. He barely got out of the time in time to dodge a monster that had tried to hit him.

Percy's eyes filled with rage.

Artemis's eyes widened. As she realized what was about to happen, she shouted out to her huntresses, "Close your eyes!"

The huntresses that were left immediately followed the goddess's orders as Percy burst into his true form.

(A/N You know, because he's a god and all. . .)

All the monsters and evil demigods were incinerated; none of them stood a chance. All the monsters were all sent back to their master to reform.

Percy gained control of his true form a few seconds later. He looked around the battlefield to see piles of monster dust and devil demigod remains everywhere. But the dead hunters were in the mess.

Percy watched as the huntresses looked for their fallen friends. Percy saw Zoë among the dead, and she returned to her place in the sky.

Then, Percy went straight to where Nico lay. He fell to his knees next to Nico and stared at him in shock and sadness. Percy looked into Nico's still open eyes and gently closed them. Percy could have believed that Nico had been only sleeping if not for the absence of breathing or the blood that soaked Nico's clothes.

Percy buried his face into his hands and silently wept.

Percy remembered that day. It had been enough to turn him into this. He didn't get out of his cabin, and he was spouting meaningless mutterings while staring with wide eyes at a wall.

(A/N It's a very interesting wall.)

But after a few weeks, Percy's shocked sadness turned into anger. He swore to get revenge for his fallen love. Tartarus and everyone who worked for him would pay.

And there would be no mercy.

A/N Yes, this story will still be Pernico. It'll just be a. . . long-distance relationship.

And don't worry, I have plans.

So, how did you like the chapter? *smiles*
