Commander Wolffe x Plo Koon's Padawan!Reader (queenevangelina's Request)

Start from the beginning

Wandering into the hangar, you saw that the preparations had been already completed. The gunships and other smaller ships had been moved to Master Plo's flagship, so the base's smaller hangar - where you were - was empty. Some crates had still been there and you made a mental note to have them packed tomorrow morning. I'm starting to become like Wolffe, you thought bitterly, thinking about my duty even when I have some free time. Sighing, you sank down one of the crates and drew up your legs. Ever since you and Wolffe became a thing, you had never felt so lonely. Looking at the walls of the empty hangar, you had finally allowed those tears to escape. You wondered whether the next three days would be the same before you would all be shipped off into battle.

"Commader (Y/l/n)...?" you heard a voice behind you and you quickly wiped away your tears before turning around.

"Hello, Sinker," you said and forced yourself to smile. "What's up?"

"I have been instructed to move these crates to the General's flagship, sir," he replied politely. "I'm still waiting on the rest of the boys though. They're in the mess hall. And when Boost starts eating..." His voice trailed off and he started chuckling. "Well, let's just say he doesn't stop until the base runs out of rations."

You laughed quietly. "That does sound like him, Sergeant. But these crates can wait. Go get some rest instead. I'm sure you can manage this extremely difficult task in three days, Sinker."

Sinker grinned back, but his expression soon turned serious again. "With all due respect, sir, the orders came from Commander Wolffe himself just now."

You felt your heart sink. So he's going to work all night, too, you thought. You nodded and faked another smile. "Of course, Sinker. I don't want to keep you distracted then." You stood up and stretched a little.

"It's always a pleasure, sir. You're never distracting any of us. Especially the commander," he added cheekily and winked. The Wolfpack still openly teased Wolffe about you and usually, you had found it humorous. But now... You felt like you were just another distraction for Wolffe. You bid farewell to Sinker and walked back to your room. You didn't even try to contact your love through your commlink. You knew he wouldn't come back. Changing out of your daily robes, you got ready for bed. Your cot seemed so big and cold. After hours of tossing and turning, you managed to fall asleep.

You woke up in the middle of the night when you thought you had heard something. You heard bare feet quitely paddling accross your room and then the mattress sank behind you. You were laying on your side, pretending to be asleep. A muscular body pressed against your back and strong arms protectively wrapped around your smaller frame. Those lips you loved so much had found their way to your neck, planting small kisses there. "I love you, Cyar'ika," Wolffe whispered and kissed your neck one more time, oblivious to the fact that you were awake. Burying his face into your hair, he slowly fell into a deep slumber.

One single tear slid down your cheek. You didn't know whether it was because of your disappointment or because of your relief.

"Attention, men! In three days, we will be shipped off to fight the Seppies again! We've done all the preparation that was neccessary, so today we have some time to-"

"Play," you chimed in, interrupting Commander Wolffe as he was briefing his man. The Wolfpack looked utterly amused and you saw wide grins and questioning looks on the faces of your boys. Wolffe turned around slowly, eyes shooting daggers at you. You ignored his look and turned to the men. "General Skywalker's battalion happens to be stationed here in Coruscant as well. Certain ARC troopers and captains have made a daring move to challenge you in a game of dodgeball. Are you up for the challenge? Or do I have to tell General Skywalker that the Wolfpack cowered and declined in fear of losing?" (A/n: I've actually looked it up and apparently this game was played at the Jedi Academy??? It's not exactly canon, but there's no way the Jedi haven't taught some games to their clone trooper, thus unleashing a stampede of amored children.)
