"Yes, it is. So?"

Alec was the one who finally explained the situation. "Sybil," he started, "vampire venom is clear, it takes days for us to recover. Hell, there isn't even supposed to be any venom outside your body." He exclaimed, exasperated.

Sybil looked at him in confusion. "So, it's not supposed to do this?"

Alec shook his head no, leaning down to look Sybil in the eye. "Have you always healed like this?"

The silence that followed confirmed to twins fears. Jane spoke next. "I believe Master Aro might want to know of this information." She said slowly, as if she was trying to convince herself this was the best idea. With another look at Sybil's face, her face scrunched up. "After you bathe."Despite the deep worry that twisted her guts, Sybil still managed to roll her eyes.

"Naturally. Bathe first, figure out why I'm a freak of nature even by vampire standards, second."

While Jane smiled at Sybil's recovering personality, Alec's head swirled with concern. Even though she is a vampire with an exceptional gift, at every turn, Sybil managed to be less like a vampire and more like an undiscovered species. She forgets, she breaks easier, heals faster, heals messily. It's as if she only half transformed. Alec began to wonder if that was even possible.

Alec left as Jane and Sybil drew a bath, heading to his own room to contemplate his whirling emotions. The memory of Sybil being smashed to the floor, the probability of her leaving in fear of the Volturi, her closeness to Demetri, too many feelings at once for Alec. He needed some time alone and the opportunity that the bath gave was too good to pass up.

While waiting outside the Water closets door, Jane began scheming on how to keep Sybil near her. Within the brief time span of being with her, Jane decided that the strange vampire needed to be around people. Sybil needed care and guidance. It didn't hurt she looked around the same age as Jane, she herself desperately wanted someone who understood the pain of being perpetually 17 beside her brother. The plan was simple. Sybil was intriguing enough for Aro to keep her around to discretely study her. Her power is useful in fighting, reason for Caius to allow her to stay. For some reason, Marcus pays special attention to the strange girl. Maybe she reminds him of his wife. It didn't really matter as long as Marcus approved of her. 'Yes' Jane thought. 'She has no coven, or mate for that matter. There is no reason for her to leave. She obviously trusted the Volturi enough to come here to report the crime.' She realized, of course, that the chances of Sybil bonding with Jane or anyone else were slim, but one could always hope.

She was still upset over the fact that her fear played out before her. Corossa did try to take down Sybil. She damn near succeeded too. Jane knew she should have locked Sybil in her room and played dumb when Aro asked for her. She just knew.

---Aro was quite perplexed.

Young Sybil was quite the puzzle. Such a magnificent gift, yet such a flighty personality. She clung to the twins and Demetri like a lifeline, then again, they were some of the first people to show her a semblance of kindness. Everyone else showed her indifference or fear because of her eyes. Of course, she did nearly stay with the Romanians (how she found them, he'll never know) but she felt like too much an intruder to stay with the old Kings and the one's mate.
