Chapter 12- Mumbling Truths

Start from the beginning

"Hello Asher. Good morning," she greets, waving a hand to him.

"Morning, Brooke," he replies with his signature smile, showing his pearly whites.

She giggles, brushing past him, opening the door like she lives there. When we were safe in the car, I finally open my mouth, giggling first. "Screwing around with the pretty babysitter I see."

"What you mean?" Asher asks with the sudden question.

"I'm saying she's pretty, and she's young. You would defiantly tap that ass." I say in a joking way.

"So that indicates for me to fuck her?" Ash asks, confusion seeping through his voice like he didn't know what I was indicating.

"Well isn't that what you do?" I shoot back, as we turn the corner; leaving the neighborhood behind us.

He opens and closes his mouth, not being able to come up with an answer for a while. "I do it for a reason... Besides, she's like 40-"

"What? Heck no! She's like twenty-one tops!" I defend.

"So you're telling me that I should go screw her 'cause she's young and pretty? If that were the case, I would be screwing you over every night. "

I was about to answer when his answer shocked me, taking my breath right out of me. Did I just hear that correctly?! "Yeah- but- There's a difference, Asher. I'm your best friend. She's the babysitter. That's like a plot of a movie or book. Nanny screwing or crushing on the kid or vice versa. "

"That's not a good enough excuse. We could be fuck buddies. Best Friends with Benefits... "

"OK I'm stopping you right there! This is getting way off topic and awkward!" I say, putting my hands up to stop him.

"Aww, is little Kimmy blushing over there cause of little ole me!" he cheers, pinching and squeezing my cheek.

"Ow, stop Spen-... Asher that hurts!"

"Did you just call me Spencer? Oh, fuck no!" he says pissed off, putting both his hands on the wheel. He scowls at the road, not turning to me for what seems like the longest time.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean it, it kind of just slipped!" I defend, turning to him with a plea. Why is that such a big deal? It's a mistake, everyone has made that mistake at least once in their life.

"Whatever," he grumbles.

"Aw, is Asher mad at little ole me!" I cooed, pinching his cheeks like he done to me, so there wouldn't be an awkward momentafter this nonsense fight.

"Aggravated is a better term. Pissed too, Kimmy Ann," he grumbles.
