"Okay," I said with a shrug, and I settled down next to her. We silent for a couple moments, unsure how to start. Finally, I broke the ice. "Thanks for coming with Bo. You know, when I was by myself with Drake."

"You're my friend," Fae said, "I wasn't about to let him kill you after he'd killed Dot." She paused before saying, "I'm glad he's dead."

"Me too," I agreed, "me too."

"I'm going to miss her," Fae said, running a hand through her fiery locks. "I already do. The pack house is so much quieter without her."

"Yeah. Without Dot blasting her One Direction CD, it's almost eerie," I replied, and Fae chuckled quietly. "I never should've taken that extra step," I muttered, fixing my eyes on my hands.

"Do you really think he wouldn't have killed her otherwise?" asked Fae. "He was a hunter. It's his job to kill our kind at any cost. Dot's death wasn't your fault."

"Yes it was," I said, tears blurring my vision, "If I'd never come here, I never would've led the hunters to the pack, and-"

"And you would never have met Bo, your mate," interrupted Fae. "I think everyone feels a little guilt. I feel guilty because I didn't protect her. Bo and Alpha Stark feel guilty in too many ways to list. I guess it's natural to feel that way when something like this happens, but that doesn't mean it's your fault."

"I guess." I would always feel responsible for Dot's death, no matter what anybody said to me. I glanced at the clock on my side table and sighed. "We should get going to Dot's funeral," I told Fae, and she nodded.

We both stood up and looked at each other for a moment before embracing tightly. Fae was the only other person still alive who'd been there when Dot died. She and I had a special bond now. Plus, she'd saved my life on a couple occasions.

"Thank you," I said as we pulled away.

"For what?" she asked confusedly.

For being my friend; for saving my life; for helping teach me things I didn't know about werewolves; for being someone I could talk to; for understanding; for trying to help me deal with my guilt. The list went on and on.

However, the only thing I said was, "Thank you for everything."

After we buried Dot's casket in the special pack cemetery, right next to her mother, the entire pack headed back to the house to eat lunch and mourn as a family. Bo and his father stood next to the fire place, accepting condolences from people as they approached.

I kept my distance, having made the decision that this was their tragedy. Instead, I wove through the masses until I spotted Anton. He was leaning against a wall, nursing a drink and looking solemn. As he caught sight of me coming, I saw the corners of Anton's mouth twitch, as if about to smile but then remembering the occasion.

"Hello Tyler," he said with a nod.

"You were right," I replied.

"About what?" asked Anton, frowning.

"I'm stupid and rash and almost got myself killed," I said. "I should've listened to you, but I was so angry that I wasn't rational."

"True," he replied, and now it was my turn to frown, and I glanced down at my shoes in embarrassment. "However," my eyes snapped up to his face, and I saw a gleam of grim happiness in his eyes. "I'm glad Dot's murderer got what he deserved. Now, all the pack has to worry about is grieving."

"It was Bo who killed him, not me," I said, remembering all too well the sound of the single shot.

"It doesn't matter," Anton stated. "He's dead, and we have closure." I nodded, and then Anton pulled me into a quick hug, taking me completely by surprise. "You scared me when you came in covered in blood, Tyler. I'm so happy you're okay."

"Thanks, Anton," I replied, and I blinked a couple times in surprise. He sounded so fatherly; it was overwhelming... and amazing.

Anton pulled away, and sent me a small smile, and I returned it happily. "I've got to go speak to some of the elder pack members, okay? I'm sure Fae, Rhett, and Fletcher are around here somewhere." I nodded, and he pulled away from the wall and walked across the room.

Instead of searching for my friends, I wandered around through the house, looking for the least crowded room. I ended up in the kitchen, and once the few people in the room saw me, they bolted. I sighed and crossed to the giant fridge and grabbed a pitcher of orange juice.

I had just shut the door and was reaching for a plastic cup in the cupboard when someone placed their hands on my hips. I yelped in surprise and whipped around to see Bo standing behind me, his mouth set in a crooked smile.

"You scared me!" I cried, and I punched him in the arm. "Aren't you supposed to be with your dad?"

"He excused himself to his office," Bo said, rubbing the back of his neck. "He said he was tired."

"You're worried about him," I observed, taking his hand in my own.

"Who wouldn't be? He's lost too many people he's cared about," Bo replied. Then, he added under his breath, "So have I." Seeing the small tear forming at the corner of his eye, I felt my heart drop, and I wrapped my arms around Bo's abdomen and pulled him close.

"I'm sorry," I whispered, and I shut my eyes and listened to Bo's heartbeat.

"I love you, Tyler."

My eyes snapped open and I looked up at Bo, stunned. "Wha... what?"

He sighed. "I know we have only known each other for a couple months, but I do. I love you."

Did I love him as well?

Yes.

Yes I did.

"I love you, too, Bo."

And then I pressed my lips to his.

They love each other! It's kinda awkward that it was at his sister's funeral but it's still sweet. My older sister's boyfriend recently told her he loved her, and it was the cutest thing ever so i felt inspired.
