"To where? For work I have to wear this only." I replied, gesturing the skirt and he nodded.
"Don't worry! There can be occasions created." He mumbled and I frowned at him before looking out.
"I need the file I gave yesterday to be checked and make sure to give an appointment to the client if everything is fine with it." Nakul said the moment we stepped into the elevator and I nodded.
"Sure, Mr. Singh!" I replied and stood comfortably finally being able to put the incident behind removing the terror of these things.
"Hello?" I lifted the office phone opening my box and glanced up to that he already left for his lunch.
"Ms. Maha! There has been a call from some woman who is asking for Mr.James." the receptionist said and I frowned at her.
"Then give the call to him." I said and frowned more thinking it must be Di calling him but why.
"He left for lunch along with Mr. Singh. I told her the same and she was barking at us saying isn't there anyone in this building who can get food for him. I thought she was talking about Mr. Singh and said Mr. Singh doesn't want to burden Mr. James in bringing the food. And she shouted at me like anything, Ms. Maha." She said in a scared tone.
"What did she shout about?" I asked not at all understanding all this.
"She was saying is the bodyguard new name for a peon or what? Why would Mr. James bring food for Mr. Singh. She was using their names directly." She replied.
"Okay! If she calls again, connect the call to me if you can't find Mr. James." I said and hung up.
What is Di thinking, doing all this? And why? I thought, frowning and took a bite of food lost in my thoughts, but the phone ringing brought me back.
"I am connecting your phone to her call." That's all the receptionist said and I picked the phone to which she connected when the light blinked.
I placed my box on the table before clearing my throat to be able to question Di and maybe she will tell me what she is planning now.
"Di! Why are you doing all this? Why are you causing trouble in the company? Just because James was not there when you call doesn't mean you can shout at the receptionist. She is not here to listen to people disrespecting them. Now, tell me what do you want." I continued to talk not giving a chance for her to say anything and then waited for her to reply.
"Who are you girl and what are you calling me with? Shall I complain to James about your behavior?" I got lashed back and I realized one thing that this is not my Di's voice.
"Who are you, Madam?" I asked clearing my throat.
"Now, that's what is called as respect. Just give the phone to James." She ordered and I raised my eyebrows before glancing at Nakul's cabin to see him returned.
"One minute, Madam!" I said and placed her on hold before calling the receptionist to send James to my cabin.
I tapped on my table and glanced to my side when the door got opened to see James walking inside frowning.
"He is here, Madam." I said removing the hold.
"It was five minutes and you said one. Don't you have any conscious to lie?" she barked and I cringed.
"I am not Mr. James PA madam, but Mr. Singh's." I pointed out and she laughed.
"So, do you think I can't complain to the little Nakul." She said I placed my hand on my mouth to stop myself from laughing but it escaped reaching her.
