"What did you do?" She asked curiously, as she look at me with a slight frown.

"I finished your report for you." I answered, and offered her the best smile I could possibly give and conjure.

"You know, no one likes a show off." Isabelle crossed her arms, and pouted childishly at me, before a smile appeared on her lips.

"How come people like Jace then?" I questioned with fake curiosity on my face, as I watched her stand up from her office chair.

"Well, that's nothing new. It's Jace, showing off is one of his many charms." Isabelle shrugged.

I rolled my eyes at her, and dismissed our on going topic. We walked over to the small group of people conversing with one another. Isabelle and I stood on either side of Alec, as we watched the whole thing unfold right before our eyes. I glanced up at Alec who carried a frown on his face.

"I'm tough, I can handle runes. So, bring on the runes. What exactly are runes?" The mundane smacked Jace in the arm, before he withdrew his hand back to himself with a sheepish smile.

"They give shadowhunters their demon fighting powers." Isabelle walked over to the mundane coolly as she ran her stele on her enkeli or Angelic rune.

"Great for shadowhunters, not so great for mundanes. Not unless you want to turn into a forsaken, because if you do I'll gladly rune you." I said sweetly with a hint of hostility in my voice.

His gaze moved between me and Isabelle with a smile on his lips, he looked like he was about to drool all over the floor. I shifted uncomfortably beside Alec, "So hot." the mundane said his eyes were wide. Jace coughed intentionally, and looked at the mundane warningly. "The rune." The mundane retorted.

"Don't worry Clary, I'll watch over the best friend. In fact, I was about to make breakfast." Isabelle said with a sweet smile, the mundane looked at Isabelle as if he was about to drool all over her clothes.

"On second thought the runes might be less lethal." Jace joked as he glanced at the mundane.

"I'll pretend I didn't hear that." Isabelle smiled at Jace with hostility, before she brought the mundane to where Alec and I stood. "Please excuse my brother's lack of manners. This is Alec, and I'm Isabelle." She said and held her hand out, expecting him to kiss it.

He shook her hand instead, continuously as he began to ramble. "Lewis Simon, Simon Lewis. Two first names, am I still talking?" He introduced, still shaking her hand.

"See your best friend is safe and sound here" Jace reassured Clary.

"Jace, if anything happens to him-"

"Go on, I'll be fine. I think" The mundane, Simon, said to assure his best friend.

Just before Clary and Jace headed to the Training room, Jace gave Simon a few warnings before, they continued on their little trip to visit Hodge. Hodge is probably the only circle member in the Institute who has been pardoned for being in league with Valentine.

Simon stared at Isabelle for a few more seconds until he looked over to me, "Hi?" He greeted, his voice filled with uncertainty as he looked at me with a worried look.
