This was written while I was struggling to stay awake, so I wanted it to end faster than maybe it would've happened in the actual predicament. And it's questionable, too...Sorry!
Being from Earth, you had dreamed about going far away places. Things like space had held your interest for a couple years until it was replaced by other, more minor things. But somehow, that little spark of intrigue in what lay outside Earth remained in your heart.
So then you found your way into a space program, the Galaxy Garrison. That was where, upon making it to the second day, the flame was roaring brightly and you stayed for a full year. It was around your one and a half year mark when you were pulled into an adventure with Pidge, Lance, Hunk, Keith, and Shiro.
Upon finding yourself in the lion with basically two options (get out or use it), you weren't sure what to do. However, the decision making didn't rest in your hands and you soon enough found yourself in space.
While the others debated what to do, what was going on, and why the lion was so fast, you observed the inky blackness with dots of light called space. You were mesmerized by its beauty, wanting to see this view for a long time but never thinking this would be your chance. As it would happen, you didn't think being pulled into a giant blue lion and sent shooting through space and having to attack a purple ship before entering a portal was on your agenda.
Then you entered the Castle with the others, wandering in a pack until you came across Allura and Coran. From there it got crazy and you learned the others you came with were the Paladins of Voltron (a large robot). You were really just a tag along, much to your disappointment. Still, Coran promised they'd find something for you to do.
This was one of those days, one where the others were practicing becoming Paladins and you were sulking cause you wanted to be special too, but fortunately for you, Coran had other plans.
"Hey (Y/N)!" He called cheerily. You were the only one of the others he called by name, as the others he still knew as numbers given based on height comparison.
"Hey."
He noticed your unhappiness and frowned. "Something wrong?"
"Why couldn't I be a Paladin?" You huffed, folding your arms but directing your discouraged look to the floor. You didn't want the sweet Altean man to think you were mad at him.
"There was only 5 lions, (Y/N)." He understood your feelings but it was the reality of the situation. "One of you had to be left out."
"Well being left out isn't fun." You grumbled, your arms becoming tenser as you squeezed them tighter to your body. Coran sat silent for a few moments, thinking over what to say. He wasn't all too experienced in human behaviors, so comfort wasn't something he knew how to directly handle doing well. But he could still try what he thought'd work.
"It'll be all right." He wrapped an arm around you to pull you over, then put his other arm around the other side of your body so you were completely surrounded by comfort of the Coran nature.
"What're you doing?" You mumbled, embarrassed not even before a full second of the gesture was up.
"Comforting you, I hope." The words were said merrily but he was silently freaking out wondering if this was okay.
You smiled. "Thanks." In the time you'd known him, you'd sorta grown a crush on the man. Sure you came from Earth, so you thought you'd like one of the Paladins, but here you were fancying an Altean.
"Anytime." He pulled his arms away thinking he was done, but you frowned.
"Now I'm cold."
He started walking away to retrieve a blanket while saying "I'll go get something." You didn't care for that and just hugged him from behind, shocking him into oblivion.
