"This is the first day of my life, I'm glad I didn't die before I met you," Chris serenaded me falsely, making dramatic hand gestures. I laughed and joined in with him.
"But now I don't care, I could go anywhere with you, and I'd probably be happy," I grabbed his hands and sang wholeheartedly, but very falsely. After brunch, Chris and I had both gotten ready and invited my friends over. Right now, we were all in my living room, singing along to gnash and Goody Grace as loud as possible. Chris and I stood on the couch, serenading each other while the rest of our friends were all over the floor, dancing like crazy. Too soon for my liking, the song was over and the next one began.
It was HUMBLE. by Kendrick Lamar, and I smiled at Chris's playlist. I loved all of these songs. I starting rapping along to the song and Chris looked at me in awe, stunned by the fact that I memorized all the words to this song.
"Aye, I'm the realest *** after all," I moved my hands along to the song and danced along messily while standing on the couch. "Bitch be humble, sit down," I grinned, twerking a little to the song, even though I was a terrible twerker. After that song I demanded I picked out a song and clicked on MCR — teenagers.
Mary yelled in excitement while Nathan groaned. Our group had listened to this song so many times, and Mary and I still loved to sing along to it. "They gonna clean up your looks with all the lies in the books, to make a citizen out of you," we yelled along.
"Because they sleep with a gun, and keep an eye on you, son, so they can watch all the things you do," Camille and Madilyn joined in soon after and we all laughed. When the chorus came the entire group yelled along.
"They said all teenagers scare the living shit out of me, they could care less, as long as someone will bleed. So darken you clothes or strike a violent pose, maybe they'll leave you alone, but not me," we all yelled. Chris, who obviously didn't know the song, had his eyebrows raised as he stared at all of us. I laughed and jumped off the couch, grabbing his hands before dancing with him. The rest of the afternoon consisted of shouting along to lyrics and dancing through the room, occasionally pausing to have a drink or eat a snack. I wrapped my arms around Chris's neck, grinding on him playfully as I grinned up at him. Chris's jaw clenched and he pushed me away slightly.
"Teasing me, huh?" he smirked, "you better give me something tonight, then." My eyes widened and I tried to play it off cool.
"With my dad and sister in the house? You better keep it inside your pants, Schistad," I remarked as if I was offended. Chris just smirked and put his hands on my waist, dancing with me.
"Dinner time!" my dad came into the living room and yelled above the music. "Everyone who isn't staying over for dinner, out," he commanded playfully. The music was turned off and all my friends hugged my dad one by one before leaving the house. I couldn't blame them, because except from the running away part, my dad was pretty great. Only Camille stayed over for dinner.
"What are we eating?" I asked, opening one of the pans to examine what was in there. Fries.
"Spareribs," my dad announced, placing a huge bowl filled with meat on the table. I exclaimed a couple of sentences that indicated I was excited for dinner and sat down at my usual seat at the dining table. We all ate slowly, chatting a lot and catching up with each other even more than we already had.
"So, how's your new school?" Camille turned towards me, smiling.
"Great," I grinned, putting my sparerib down so I could tell her all about it. "I have an amazing group of friends from my year, I'm actually in a Buss with them," I smiled. She nodded and smiled excitedly, she knew all about Russ Busses by now. "And there's this group of third years that involves Chris and Noora's boyfriend William. We party with them a lot, they're great," I said before thinking of the rude Penetrator in the hallway the other week. "Except for Andreas, he's a douchebag."
Chris chuckled, "he's alright, actually. He hadn't gotten laid in too long and he became desperate."
"Hmh," I shrugged, "if I were desperate, I wouldn't try and go after the prettiest girl of year one." I realized that sounded very cocky, but Andreas deserved all of it. Chris just laughed at me and continued eating.
"Thanks for dinner, paps," Camille smiled at my dad, putting on her coat, "it was great, as always." My dad smiled at her.
"Of course, any time," he pulled her into a hug and kissed her forehead like he had done mine at least a million times before she left. Camille was like my sister, so that made her my father's third daughter.
"Bye, Cami," I pulled her into a hug. "See you tomorrow." She grinned and nodded, hugging Chris and Nadine before taking off.
