It Started In A Barn

Chapter 9

“Cool! So in about 3 1\2 hours we'll be in Texas?” I asked

::Yep!::

I grinned happily

“Let's get rolling then.” Gadget mused

He then ran forward a little before there was another loud clicking and whirring. A moment later Gadget's alt mode was in his place.

::Ready?:: Bumblebee then asked me and I could hear amusement in his voice

“For what?” I asked back

I was answered less than a second later. 'Bee transformed around me. I saw all the gears and pieces rearrange themselves. A moment later I was in 'Bee’s passenger seat.

“Epic!” I cheered as he revved his engine

He laughed in response before he then accelerated, kicking up dirt and sand. We sped past Gadget, who did a U-turn and started catching up to us.

I grinned slightly before rubbing my eyes and leaning up against his seat.

:: It's alright, you can take nap. It'll be a bit.:: 'Bee said kindly to me

“Alrighty.” I said with a nod before I curled up and drifted off asleep

Gadget's P.O.V.

I sped up, easily catching up to Bumblebee. Oh I love speeding like this. 'specially race car type. So I suppose that makes me a bit of a speed racer like him.

I heard a couple of clicks, meaning 'Bee opened up a private comm with me

“Something the matter?” I asked him immediately

::Nah, Zoe is asleep. I don't wanna wake her.::

“Wise choice.”

I heard him chuckle back a bit

::Anything about your dad?::

I sighed sadly at this. I still have found nothing. No signal, no tracker, nothing. I really do hope her alright. I can't help but be a bit concerned. Especially after what happened to Ironhide and Wheeljack.

“No, I'm going to send him a message via our bond though.” I replied to him

::Good idea.::

I slowed down just a little before opening the bond between him and I.

“Dad, I'm headed to Texas with 'Bee. We've found Optimus’s signal! Hope to see you soon.”

I paused for a moment, before receiving mostly a static-like sound. I sighed heavily before picking back up my speed.

::Anything?::

“Nope.”

:: It'll be okay, we'll find him.::

“I hope your accurate.”

::So do I::

I laughed at that and I heard 'Bee grin a bit.

“Now I guess it's like what Zoey said, Texas here we come.” I said as we went on driving.

Couple hours later

Bumblebee’s P.O.V.

Gadget and I kept on driving. We just passed the sign that said 'Welcome To Texas’. Zoey was still fast asleep, so I was careful with my driving to make sure I didn't accidentally wake her up.

It's nice to see her doing better so far with Gadg’ and I. I wonder who the rest of the team will react to her. And I wonder how she'll react to them.

I suppose we'll find out soon though.

“Rolling smoothly 'Bee?” Gadget then questioned me through our private comm

::Yep. We're nearly there.:: I replied

“Zoe still asleep?”

::Also a yep. I'm watching my speed to make sure I don't wake her.::

“Wise idea.”

There were then several bangs through the comm

::Are you alright?::

“I'm fine. Just might have a several new dents. Blasted alt picks up every single fraggin’ rock possible!” Gadget seethed, annoyed

I kept my laugh to myself. If there's one thing I know, is that Gadget has a bit of a temper like a certain someone. And I really don't need to light that fuse.

:: Perhaps you can change it soon:: I suggested instead

“We shall see. I am undecided.”

Zoey then woke up with a yawn.

“Hiya 'Bee.” She said with a smile

I was about to say something before someone interrupted the comm.

“Calling all Autobots….Calling all Autobots…”

Yes! I felt like coming to a screeching halt! Zoey looked completely confused.

I heard Gadget buzz happily through the comm. Less than a moment later, he and I both yelled in unison.

“He’s alive! Optimus is back!”

Wassup. So this is late again. Sorry 'bout that. Also, Gadget's bipedeal mode is basically a cross between Bumblebee's and Ratchet's. I can't draw for the life of me, so you'll have to imagine it from the details.
