We turned around. "Mary!"

She walked over, her play object in hand. "I was waiting for the food to come to the eating room when I heard you  two talking. Don't worry, Mommy. You can write that article. I just know it." She gave me a hug.

I grinned. Mary was so sweet. I hugged her back and pulled her onto my lap. "Thanks sweetie. I love you so much."

"I love you too, Mommy!" She smiled, and then turned to Benjamin. "And you, Daddy!"

He kissed her forehead. "I love you, my little drop of sunshine."

Just then, our screening device turned on. The thing was, it didn't turn on right away. The image was fuzzy at first, like the machine had trouble waking up, and wasn't on correctly until a few seconds later. This only meant one thing; the Differents were trying to send out a message.

I groaned. Really? This too? "Benny, could you turn that thing off? I don't want Mary getting any ideas. I've had enough of this."

He nodded and went over to press the power button, but it didn't work. His brows knitted together. "That's never happened before."

"Well, try again!"

He pressed the power button multiple times, but the screening device refused to turn off. "It's looks like the rebels are getting better at this," Benny mumbled.

"Alright, come now, Mary, let's go eat our mid-day meal in the eating room," I told her, standing up and guiding her away.

"Citizens, it is your final chance to make a change!" I heard a male voice on the screening device begin.

I recognized the voice and turned around. There on the screening device was the image of his face. Every time this happened, he was like a spokesperson for the Differents. I groaned internally. I did not want to deal with this right now.

"Mommy? Who is he?" Mary wondered, looking at the screen.

"Don't worry about it. Just go eat lunch."

She raised a brow at me.

"Now!"

Quickly, she ran to the eating room, Benjamin and I followed after her.

"I know what you all are thinking. You believe that diversity,  choice, change, being different- all of that will just lead to chaos, hate, and war. That it would lead to the destruction of the human race itself."

"We don't just believe; we know. It has happened before," I muttered. I looked over to Benjamin, and nodded with agreement.

"But you have forgotten one key thing that makes diversity and being different so special: acceptance."

Benjamin and I turned around. I shot him a confused look, but he just shrugged, confused as well. They've never said anything like that before. It was always "different is good" and "the life you live right now isn't perfect." Now they were talking about acceptance? Please.

"With acceptance, any one can be who they want to be, and choose how they wan't  to live, and others can accept that. Before the government had created these laws to prevent jealousy, hate, and war,  the world was filled with diversity. Yet, it also had many of the things the laws we have now try to prevent."

"Mommy? Daddy? What is he talking about?" Mary poked her head out of the door.

"The world was a mess back then, because many  people were missing such a key part to harmony and peace. That key part was acceptance."
