"Everyone in Phoenix Drop. Everyone in Phoenix Drop told me about the things you did. The people you saved. The things you've been through. The sacrifices you made, and the risks you took to keep the people you cared for safe. Who you are as a person. They told me it all." Garroth answered.
"Those things don't matter to me anymore! It was all for nothing!" I shouted.
"You do mean that." Garroth whispered.
"I do." I replied back quickly.
"You don't."
"I DO."
"HOW COULD YOU MEAN THAT?" Garroth exclaimed.
Just then Garroth came at me, sword in hand. He knocked me on the ground, and held a sword to my face as I sat there defenseless.
"HOW COULD YOU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT? HOW COULD MEAN SOMETHING LIKE THAT?" Garroth yelled angrily. "IF IT WAS FOR NOTHING, WHY'D YOU DO IT?"
I clenched my fists. This is not the day to be on my bad side.
"IF YOU DIDN'T MEAN IT, WHY TAKE A RISK TO FIND YOUR FAMILY? WHY HELP SOMEONE YOU DIDN'T EVEN KNOW AT THE TIME, AND BRING A VILLAGE THAT WAS IN SHAMBLES BACK ON IT'S FEET? WHY BECOME A HEAD GUARD, AND PROTECT EVERYONE AS YOUR JOB? WHY SACRIFICE YOURSELF FOR A CHILD AND BECOME A SHADOW KNIGHT? WHY ACCOMPANY SOMEONE ON THEIR JOURNEY'S AND PROTECT THEM, NO QUESTIONS ASKED? WHY CONTINUE TO DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO DO GOOD? TO PROTECT EVERYONE? TO DO THE RIGHT THING? WHY? TELL ME WHY? WHY?"
He knew it all. I didn't understand why this bothered him so much.
"And you have the audacity to tell me about 'guard's honor.'" Garroth sighed in a disappointed tone.
I grabbed his sword and shoved it out of my face, slicing my hand in the process.
"I don't need to hear it from you." I said bitterly.
I turned to walk and kill Zane.
"Everyone told me so much more. Where is that (Y/n)? Where's the caring (Y/n)?" Garroth asked me. "Being blinded by anger, is terrible. I was in your position once. But for me, it was jealousy. You can come back from this."
"I can! Once I kill Zane!"
"You're acting like a fool!" Garroth shouted. "Open your eyes! Can't you see that's Aphmau you're striking at?!"
"Why is she dressed up as Zane?!" I screamed.
"We will explain later." He said calmly.
"Garroth's telling the truth! It's me (Y/n)! It's me, Aphmau!"
'Zane' pulled down his mask.
"Aphmau?" I came out of my Shadow Knight form. "Lady Aphmau! I am so sorry! I didn't mean to-"
"It's perfectly fine." Aphmau cut me off.
I helped her to her feet. Then I noticed something was different.
"Damnit! Ivy got away!" I looked around.
Katelyn groaned and stood up. Just then Laurence ran up.
"Still... haven't... found... (Y-Y/n)." Laurence said breathlessly.
"We already found her." Aphmau said.
"Told you to stay with us." Katelyn rolled her eyes.
"You're here!" Laurence exclaimed happily towards me.
He ran to me and gave me a huge hug. After a minute or so-
"Where in the name of Irene have you been?!" Laurence started to reprimand me.
