Andi was busy tinkering with a few parts of the star when she heard the window open and close again. Blue and red could be seen out of the corner of her eye and she looked up to find Peter crawling across the ceiling in his suit. Her jaw dropped a little bit, only because she hadn't been expecting him to come through the window in his suit without knowledge of who was around.
Peter very quietly shut the door with his webbing and dropped to the ground. He sighed and turned around, freezing the moment he saw Andi and Ned.
Ned dropped the Death Star to the floor and stood up, as did Andi.
"What was that?" May called.
"Uh, it's nothing," Peter quickly called back. "It's nothing."
"You're the Spider-Man," Ned breathed out. "From YouTube."
Peter pressed the symbol on his chest to relieve himself of the suit and Andi raised her brows.
"I'm not, I'm not," Peter tried to convince him, but it was much too late to even try.
"Dude, you were on the ceiling," Andi was trying to play along to the best of her abilities, and it seemed to be working, fortunately for her.
"No, I wasn't," Peter said. "What are you doing in my room?"
"May let us in, we were gonna finish the Death Star," Ned answered.
"You can't just bust into my room," Peter defended himself.
The door opened and Peter made his way over to his friends, while May hurried inside, waving a towel to divert the smoke from what she'd been cooking.
"That turkey meatloaf recipe is a disaster," May laughed. "Let's go to dinner. Thai? Ned, Andi, you want Thai?"
"Yes," Ned and Andi answered at the same time, but Peter was quick to cut them off.
"No, they've got a thing," Peter told his aunt.
"Okay," May smiled and began closing the door. "Maybe put on some clothes."
May shut the door behind her and Peter grabbed his sweater from the chair. He turned back around to face the two, who still looked as bewildered as ever.
"She doesn't know?" Andi asked.
"No," Peter answered. "Nobody knows. I mean, Mr. Stark knows because he made my suit, but that's about it."
Andi wanted so badly to tell him just how untrue that was, but she bit her tongue. She planned on keeping her secret from him for as long as she could. If Peter were to find out, it would only cause complications between the two of them, and that was the last thing Andi wanted. Peter could be super annoying at times, but Andi didn't wanna see him go. She wanted to keep him around for as long as she could.
Ned gasped. "Tony Stark made you that? Are you an Avenger?"
Peter stopped to think for a moment before nodding. "Yeah, basically."
"Oh my god," Andi laughed.
"Listen, you guys can't tell anybody about this," Peter said to them. "You gotta keep it a secret."
"Secret? Why?" Ned questioned.
"Because you know what she's like!" Peter exclaimed. "If she finds out people try and kill me every single night, she's not gonna let me do this anymore. C'mon, guys, please."
"Okay, okay, okay, okay," Ned said. "I'll level with you. I don't think I can keep this a secret, it's the greatest thing to ever happen to me."
Andi swatted at him. "Are you serious right now?"
"Ned, May cannot know," Peter spoke seriously. "I cannot do that to her right now, y'know? I mean, after everything that's happened with her, I...please..."
"Okay."
"Just swear it, okay?"
"I swear."
Peter looked at Andi. "And you?"
"My lips have been sealed since you came through the window in tights," Andi scoffed. "Trust me, your secret is safe with me."
"Thank you," Peter breathed out a sigh of relief.
"Yeah."
"I can't believe this is happening right now."
"Can I try the suit on?" Ned asked.
"No!"
Andi shook her head at the two boys and laid down on Peter's mattress. She could go to sleep if she really wanted to, but she doubted Peter would like that. She just wanted to escape, though, escape both of their idiocy. This was one of the reasons why she knew she could not tell the boys, Ned especially. He couldn't keep his mouth shut, and Peter overreacted about everything.
"I'm gonna tell you about this at school tomorrow," Peter finally said after Ned had finished his list of inquiries. He rushed the boy out of the bedroom and shut the door behind him, his eyes falling on Andi, who made herself very comfortable in his bed.
"Someone looks a bit flustered," Andi smirked and closed her eyes.
"You've gotta go."
"What?" Andi chuckled and opened up one eye. "Are you gonna drag me out of bed and throw me out the way you threw out Mr. Asks-Too-Many-Questions?"
Peter groaned and sat down by her on the mattress. "Why aren't you freaking out about this the way he is?"
"Because I don't care," Andi said to him, her tone nonchalant. "You prance around the city in a skintight suit whisking kittens from trees. That's wonderful, and I'm so happy for you, but you're not the only one."
Peter's eyes lit up at the sound of her words. "I know, I ran into one today."
"Oh, really now?"
"Yes," Peter answered. "Have you heard of Recluse?"
"Vaguely."
"Okay, well I was running around today and I ran into her," Peter explained to Andi, and she hummed in response. "She's not much of a talker, though, which threw me back a little, but it was still cool running into her."
"I bet it was, Peter."
Andi yawned and rolled away from Peter. He laughed at her and shook her shoulder, but she was adamant about giving him her attention.
"You know you can't stay here, right?" Peter said with a raised brow.
"You're not the boss of this house."
"But I'm the boss of this bed."
"Touché," Andi muttered.
Peter scoffed and grabbed her arm. "At least get on the top bunk."
Andi turned her head to look at him. "Too lazy, heavy workout today."
"You don't work out..."
"Not that you know of."
Peter only chuckled and stood up. "Whatever, Andi. I'm going to eat with May, and when I get back I'm gonna need you to be up top."
"There are better ways to word things," Andi snorted back her laughter. This was what she loved about looking after Peter. She loved her relationship with him. She loved that they were just so comfortable with each other. Being around him made Andi so happy, and it'd been so long since she'd been happy.
"You're right," Peter cringed. "I'll see you soon, though, okay?"
"Okay."
"Later, nerd."
Andi didn't respond. She only laid down and listened as he turned the light off and left the room. She grabbed his comforter and pulled it over her body, cuddling into it and closing her eyes. Before long she was drifting off to sleep, wrapped in a comfort she'd never known before.
