It Started In A Barn

Chapter 25

“Wait...I'm missin’ one.” Ironhide stated with a frown as he looked around

There was a yelp and I looked to see Lucky holding his foot up, a throwing knives directly under it

“Ah, there it is.”

In a flash, Ironhide got all his gear back on and tucked away.

Just then the rest of the Autobots alts pulled up. I heard Gadget and Soulspark transform. I saw Soulspark's alt, which was a 2014 Dodge Challenger that was black with green rims and racing stripes.

“Autobots, get this bomb over the bridge and out of the city!” Optimus directed as he looked at them all

“I got it! I'm getting this bomb out of here!” Joshua then said as he climbed into Drift while Silver and Ironhide got into Soulspark

There was then the squealing of tires and they all sped off, minus Gadget and Bumblebee. I saw the Dinobots run right behind them before they went out of site. I then saw Optimus run in an opposite direction, his battle mask clicking on.

“It's you and me now!” Optimus called as he ran off

Just as we were all about to get into each Gadget and ‘Bee, Cade spoke up, facing Shane and Tessa, “Look, Optimus is out there all alone.”

“What? You can't help him.” Tessa said back

“I have to, Tess. He came back for us.” Cade said earnestly

“Dad, don't leave, please.”

“Look, I'll find you, I'll get there, okay?”

"Dad, no, you'll die!”

"You gotta stay with Shane, you're gonna be okay.” Cade said before turning to Shane, “You promise me you're gonna keep her safe, rest of her life, until the end of time! Promise me!”

"I promise you.”

“You're the best thing I ever made, Tess. Alright, don't ever forget it, it was always you. I love you.”

“Please…”

“Get in the car, now.” Cade said and Lucky pulled Tessa in with him.

“Cade, don't go.” I said quietly as I looked up at him

He crouched down in front of me, with a slight smile.

“I'll be back sweetie. Alright? Don't worry about me. Stay with the ‘bots.” He said before he got up and ran off towards the direction Optimus went.

I watched him sadly before I felt someone pick me up. It ended up being Gadget's holoform.

“C'mon now, in ya get.” He said as he put my in the driver's seat.

Gadget then touched his steering wheel before his holoform vanished and the driver door shut. Moments later, we went out towards the highway to the bridge.

“Stop the car!” I heard Tessa say suddenly through the comm.

‘Bee and Gadget both stopped, side by side.

::You better listen.:: ‘Bee started

"No, you listen. I'm not leaving my dad.” Tessa said back

I heard Gadget hum thoughtfully

“Dad, what's your play?” Gadget questioned  but was only answered with silence

“And he friggin’ wonders where I get it from.” Gadget said as suddenly he and ‘Bee made U-turns, and I could hear the smile in his tone.
