I shrugged.

"Call it a personality clash."

"Call it the irresistible force meets the immovable object," Hector smirked, causing the other guys to laugh.

"Call it what you like, as the peacemaker of the team, I'm stopping it right now," Mesut grinned. "No more arguing, you two!"

"Mes, you're the playmaker, not the peacemaker," I objected.

"And I thought I was the boss," Thierry complained, jokingly. "I didn't sign up for this!"

"I mean, what else did you expect from a team of hyperactive footballers," I laughed. "You must have been one yourself, at one point."

"I still am," he smiled at me. "Give me time to get used to being in charge, you know I'm new to this."

I shrugged.

"I know," I admitted. "And you're not doing badly."

"Wow, thanks," he stated, sarcastically. "Way to boost my confidence."

"Your confidence doesn't need boosting at all," I laughed. "But this is becoming an argument, Mes stop us whilst you can!"

"I'm gonna need to bring a cricket bat to training, aren't I," Mesut laughed.

Hector, Granit, and I didn't leave Mesut's house until quite late, and since my house was the closest, we decided to just crash there. We'd all fallen asleep watching Netflix on the beanbags in the media room, and as a result, I woke up to find myself squashed between my two best friends. I thumped Hector's chest lightly to wake him, and he blinked his eyes open sleepily. He smiled when he saw me half squashed beneath him.

"Morning Nia."

"Morning. And get off me, I'd like to be able to feel my legs by the time training starts."

"Oh, we have training today too, that's right," He recalled.

He rolled off me, and sat up and stretched himself.

"What time is it?" He asked. "Wake Granit, I don't have my phone on me."

I shook Granit's shoulders gently, until he too opened his eyes.

"Uh, did I fall asleep," he asked, looking around.

"It's morning, you idiot," Hector snorted, whilst I laughed. "The movie finished ages ago. What time is it? We have training at... what, three?"

"Two," I corrected him.

Granit's eyes widened, and he produced his phone to check the time.

"Oh, its only half nine," he said. "We've got plenty of time."

"The bacon is calling me," I sighed peacefully, sitting up and stretching my legs.

As if on cue, my stomach growled hungrily, and they both laughed.

"Oh, shut up," I rolled my eyes. "Do you guys want food?"

"Is that even a question?" Said Hector. "Of course we want food if it's going."

I laughed at him. Typical.

"You guys go shower, or whatever," I stated, standing up. "But don't be too long, or the bacon will go cold, and I want to have a shower too."

"Boss's gonna kill us," Granit commented. "Pizza one day, bacon the next..."

"Hey, he consented to the pizza," I laughed. "We can go back to the health freak life after the bacon."

"Anyway," said Hector, as I left the room, and headed for the kitchen. "Who says bacon isn't healthy? And it's only pre-season, we'll be back in top form by the time the league starts."

Pretty soon, we were all showered and changed, and sitting at the kitchen table eating our bacon strips, with toast and coffee.

"So," began Hector. "Training starts at...3pm?"

"2pm, I already told you that," I corrected him.

"Whatever, we have heaps of time. You know what we should do?"

"Go to the gym to wear off the bacon and pizza?" Suggested Granit.

Hector sighed, and narrowed his eyes at him, as if he was a voice of reason he'd wished to avoid.

"Not exactly what I had in mind," he said, slowly.

"Why, what were you thinking?" I asked. "Because we really should go to the gym."

"We can go to my house and play video games?"

"Oh..." I said, and paused. "That would be fun..."

"But we need to work out today!" Granit protested.

"Aw, come on man," said Hector. "I haven't played CoD in like six weeks!"

"Six days," Granit corrected. "Nia, back me up here please?"

I sighed, laughing inwardly at the two of them. Granit had the conscience of three people, which was exactly what he needed, being close as he was with Hec and I. He generally kept us from procrastinating too much, or from doing something totally crazy, but there were occasions where we managed to squash his voice of reason. This would prove to be one of those times.

"We can go to the gym after, Granit," I said, knowing full well we would never end up doing so.

Granit sighed in defeat, rolling his eyes at us, whilst Hector began celebrating.

"Let's go then," Hector said, shoving the remnants of his bacon in his mouth.

"Wait, let me grab my bag for training first then," I said, quickly, rising from the table also, and taking my dishes to the sink.

"Okay, but hurry up!" Hector laughed. "You know how it goes. Last one to the car has to forfeit."

"What's the forfeit?" Granit asked, smiling.

"You play as the spuds on FIFA!"

"Okay, I'm coming then," I laughed.
