'My....my dad?' You stuttered. 'I don't - ' You started to say, but flashes of memories suddenly raced through your head.
'What the HELL do you think you're doing, (Y/N)?!'
'Dad...dad, please, it was the dog! That wasn't me!'
'Blame it on the dog, sure! You're a filthy little liar, that's what you are!'
You squeezed your eyes shut as the feeling of fear overwhelmed you.
'(Y/N)!' A gruff man's voice came from next to you.
'I didn't do it...' You muttered, hands over your face. Someone shook your shoulders, and you scrambled back from them. 'Stop!'
'(Y/N), eet's me...eet's just me, Spy.' The Frenchman said softly, and you peeked through a gap in your fingers. Indeed it was just him, and you lowered your shaking hands. 'What 'appened?'
'I...I remembered...s-something about my dad...' You stuttered. 'Something b-b-bad...'Spy glanced back at Medic uncertainly, who knelt down in front of you.
'It vas like a flashback, ja?'
'I...remember that now...I-I remember what h-happened then...'
'Vhat happened zen is in ze past, it cannot happen again.'
You shook your head, trembling uncontrollably. 'But it felt s-so real...l-like it happened j-just now...'
'He cannot find you here. You are safe viz us.' Medic said firmly, holding you by the shoulders. You looked up into his blue eyes.
'Promise?'
He smiled softly at you. 'I promise. Ve all do.' He looked at Spy and Sniper, who nodded.
'Heavy promise too.' The bear-like man rumbled from the corner. He had been making lunch quietly in the corner, and you hand't noticed him.
You stood up and gave the men a weak smile. 'Thanks, guys, I appreciate it.'
'No problem.' Sniper said. 'Is lunch ready yet, Heavy?'
'Heavy's sandviches are ready!' He grinned, putting a heavy platter of "sandviches" on the bench. Each triangular sandwich had an olive on a cocktail stick in it, along with meat, lettuce, cheese and more. You sat down in the usual seat and took a small bite from the corner of it. It was good.
'These are really great, Heavy!' You said, as Scout regained consciousness. He lifted his head off the floor and groaned.
'Leetle girl has told Heavy before.' Heavy said through a mouthful of sandvich.
'Oh...can't hurt to tell you again, I guess.' You grinned, making Heavy laugh heartily.
'Leetle girl is still funny!' He roared. You picked up your sandwich again and dropped it suddenly, the pain in your knuckles searing again. You grimaced and clenched your teeth together to prevent a gasp from escaping your lips.
'Somethin' wrong?' Sniper asked, just as Scout knocked a frying pan off the counter top. There was a terrible crash followed by the ringing of the metal.
'OH JEEZ SWITCH IT OFF!' Scout hollered, clasping his hands on his ears. You staggered out of the mess hall, muttering to himself.
'Looks like I have anozer patient to deal viz.' Medic said, standing up and running to catch up with the drunk Scout.
'What was I sayin'? Sniper asked as the door swung shut.
'You were asking 'er about zat.' Spy said, pointing to your knuckles where there was two very visible dark purple bruises. You looked at him with a why did you do that expression, and he just gave you a sly smirk in return. 'Just worried about you.' He said simply, taking your hands and inspecting them.
