"He's here." Namjoon says from beside you.

"Obviously!" You say sarcastically, then you give him a hug. "See you later, Joon."

"Bye. Have fun." Namjoon winks, then he looks away and takes a sip from his Coca Cola.

You are already rushing to your boyfriend's car, before he could step out and open the door for you. As soon as you sit down, he leans over and gives you a quick, feathery-soft kiss.

"I've missed you, my love." He says quietly, staring deep into your eyes.

"I've missed you too, Min Yoongi." You breathe, and you can't help but tackle him in a hug.

He laughs, hugging you back. "Hey, you're gonna ruin my suit." But he doesn't pull away until you do.

After wolfing down numerous steamed pork buns, fried noodles, and a heap of mango pudding, all you can do is sit stiffly in your chair, taking small, occasional sips of water.

Yoongi isn't even done with his bowl of rice pudding yet. He is looking at you in an amused way, as if he forgot about your big appetite.

You catch him looking at you say, "Hey, I've never been to The Flowergarden before, okay? I was making the most out of my first experience."

You laugh, but Yoongi only replies with a light chuckle. Ever since the two of you arrived at the restaurant, you've noticed that something was wrong with him. Maybe it was from the way he always changed the subject when you asked, "how have you been?", or maybe it was because he was dead silent during most of the car ride.

He's just tired, don't be paranoid, you tell yourself. After all, he recently finished performing in an overwhelming amount of concerts, attending fan signing events, and flying to places across the world, all in a span of two months.

"You know I love you, right?" Suga says out of the blue. "And you know I'll always love you. Right?"

"O-of course, hon. I love you too." You reply shakily. His eyes are blank- you can't tell if he's sad or happy.

He reaches across the table and gently takes your hand.

You suddenly have the idea that he might propose. Or break up with you. Both ideas make your heart pound hard against your chest. You try your best to remain calm, licking your lips nervously.

"I- I don't-" Yoongi sighs in a frustrated way, as if he doesn't know how to say what he's trying to tell you.

"Are you okay?" You say softly, squeezing his hand.

At that moment, Yoongi looks right at you, all of his emotions displayed in his dark brown eyes.

And all you can see is sadness.

"I want to break up with you."

The words hit you hard in the chest, making you dizzy for a moment.

You swallow and awkwardly pull your hand away, gripping the napkin on your lap.

"Why?" Is all you manage to say, and it comes out in a whisper.

"Because. Well, I want to focus on my career for now. My music." He says quickly, a frustrated blush rising in his cheeks.

You couldn't bring yourself to look at him. The moment doesn't seem real; your head hurts and you close your eyes.

For a few seconds, you stay that way, eyes closed, listening to the soft clinks of utensils on plates in the distance. After two months apart, Suga plans a fancy date night, only to break up with you. You're not angry, though- just confused.

You finally open your eyes, hoping everything was just a dream. Unfortunately, the same scene unfolds in front of your eyes: an expensive, busy restaurant, and your boyfriend looking at you from across the table with a wary expression. You look down and see that his hand is still resting on the table near you, as if he wants to hold your hand again.

You keep both of your hands on your lap, fidgeting with the corners of your napkin. 

"Babe?" Yoongi says quietly.

"I- I don't understand, Yoongi." Your voice comes out shakily. "We've been together for three years, and we've been fine with your busy schedule. We always find a way to work it out. We can still be together. We don't have to change anything. Unless- is there another reason you want to break up with me? Just tell me, please."

There has to be another reason.

"That's the only reason I have. I know it sounds like bullshit, but that's the truth."

"No, it isn't." You snap. Suddenly, you feel bad for speaking in such a rude tone. "I'm sorry. But please, just tell me the truth. Maybe I can help you. Is there something wrong? Am I doing something wrong? If I'm lacking, I'm sorry, I promise I'll fix it-"

"I'm going solo." He mumbles.

Going solo? You stare deep into his eyes to look for a hint of a lie, but he doesn't seem to be hiding anything.

But it is impossible. Bangtan is his family- he'd never leave them.

"What?"

"And don't you ever say that. You're perfect, Y/N. There's nothing wrong with you. I'm breaking up with you because you deserve someone better. Someone who will always be beside you. I'm gonna be traveling the world, babe. I'll be too busy. You wanna know something? During the entire Love Yourself tour, you were all I could think about. I missed you every second- while I was on stage, while I was on the plane, while I was eating. I couldn't focus on the music. And now that I'm going solo, I have to give it my all. I'm sorry."

Everything was happening too fast. The feeling of being brokenhearted couldn't reach you yet- you had too many questions filling up your mind.

"Wait, hon, slow down. When did you decide to go solo? Do the others know?" You ask.

"I've been thinking about it over the summer. But I haven't told them yet. You're the only one who knows so far."

"Are you sure-"

Yoongi cuts you off. "Y/N, I love you, ok? But I don't want to make you suffer anymore. I fucking hate that I always have to wait months before I can see you again. You deserve better."

His voice breaks, making your heart shatter into a million pieces.

"I'm sorry."

And with that, he grabs his suit jacket and leaves the restaurant, quickly paying for the meal at the front register. You watch through the window as he speeds away in his car, never looking back at you again.
